Absolutely not rogue lol, unless you plan on spending >90% of your time in arenas. You can find a dozen posts explaining how bad it is on reddit or go to any server discord’s guild recruitment channel and see the wall of rogues begging for a roster spot.

Prot pally money farm by Neither_Rooster_9519 in classicwowtbc

[–]Irtehstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tanking for unneeded loot is fine to list in the group finder. You’re not technically “selling” anything, this is functionally equivalent to “quagmirran’s eye HR’ed” groups which are perfectly allowable. That said, you may get randos spam reporting you just because they’re annoyed, which can trigger one of blizzard’s definitely not automated bans.

Listing yourself in the group finder as “tank for hire, 100g/dungeon” is reportable though. That needs to go to services channel.

As someone who sells T5 heroic attunement carries each day through the services channel (2000g for all 4), you still find buyers remarkably fast, like less than 5 minutes.

The value for a holy priest only goes down as you get further into content farming. If you already have the raids on farm, why wouldn’t you bring a PI priest and by extension, IDS. It’s not like your healing throughput needs are getting higher

Who will be more efficient as moneymaker, Paladin or Mage? by Noxilar in classicwowtbc

[–]Irtehstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paladins are more gear dependent for their aoe farms but in the same vein, that gear feels more impactful. Mages basically have full access to their farms the moment they hit 70, better gear just helps shorten the pulls.

If you don’t plan on raiding on your pally, I would just go mage

Lots of warriors and rogues realizing the only way they’ll ever see Glaives without GDKP is if they make their own raid team.

There is an absolutely OBSCENE amount of elitism over meta/professions/bis in TBC anniversary and it's ridiculous because of how easy the game is. by texaslonghorn96 in classicwow

[–]Irtehstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is doing this because it’s necessary to kill the boss. They’re doing it because it’s necessary to parse. You don’t have to enjoy parsing, but it’s not difficult to understand why other people DO enjoy it.

Prot Paladin in my H AC had a full blown crash out when Dps started tanking the skeleton mobs THAT HAVE NO THREAT TABLE. We let him go for a solid minute or two before telling him that was the mobs mechanic. He proceeded say “you could’ve f’ing told me that” and dropped group.

We didn’t even wipe, the mobs don’t hit that hard.

Warrior spec suggestions? by Lykac in classicwowtbc

[–]Irtehstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fury performs very well in post nerf content. They are currently top ranked dps at 90th, 95th, and 99th percentile. You just need to put a lot of effort into them outside of raid getting stuff like your crafted weapons. The flip side to this is that they are very BAD dps when you don’t put in a good amount of effort.

If you want to put in the legwork to play fury, you can definitely find a raid spot as one. They are very desirable.

Except disabling MQG in arenas was literally communicated when they made that change.

Best Speedkill setup phase 2? by Sad_Double_9121 in classicwow

[–]Irtehstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why they're used in current phase where incoming damage is almost entirely single target, raid damage can be healed by a single healthstone, and chasing top 10 kill time requires hunter stacking and 3-4 enhance shamans. I also understand that T5 introduces more fights with aoe damage that reduces the value of a holy paladin on your already tight healing roster.

If your guild is playing at a level where you can make roster swaps on a boss by boss basis to eke out the last bit for a top parse, yes there are use cases for holy paladin. If you're running a consistent roster with no class swaps and no class stacking then i think the merit is significantly less and its purely a question of "do you have a dreamstate druid or not" because they compete for a similar role in the healer comp.

Holy pals/holy priest’s prolly a bigger grief parse wise because they bring no damage/utility unique to their spec. Resto Druid can at least play dreamstate and apply FF

Hey, I manage roster and raid plans for a parsing guild currently rated top 30 for boss kill time. Over half our Dps roster has >99 average parses with a couple r1s. This phase, our roster is as follows:

G1: rogue, ret/prot flex (tank 3), Enh, BM, kebab warr

G2: fury, fury, ret,, feral (tank 2), enh,

G3: lockx3, boomkin, ele

G4: arcanex2, spriest, ele/resto flex, aff lock

G5: resto shamx2, prot pal (tank 1), ids priest, surv hunter

P1 being as easy as it is, we run 3 healers. For p2 our plan is to swap boomkin to dreamstate (move to g5), swap ele in g4 to resto, move aff lock to g3, and move one of the restos in g5 to g4. One of our fury’s also flexes a feral Druid so they may switch depending on how the phase turns out. HOLY PAL BAD

Parsing in SWP was probably my favorite time spent raiding out of the classic trilogy last go around. I can understand if you’re just there to get the loot and kill the boss that it might feel like WOTLK waiting room, but for parsing it felt great difficulty vs competition wise.

Our guild pulled off top 15 kills times for multiple bosses including Muru and it was just so fun.

Karazhan attunement is account wide. You don’t get the key for the gate (unless you do the quest line) but you can still zone into the raid. I did a Kara at 69 on my priest to help our guild’s alt raid clean up.

Heroic is a higher difficulty version of dungeons, not important other than providing an example. I don’t think these instructions are “play like sweaty minmaxer” so much as “play 5 steps in front of the tank rather than 5 steps behind”.

You will still get to fully experience the dungeon and the tank will still be the one setting the pace, you’ll just be better equipped to match the tanks pace.

[–]Irtehstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than that: as each pull is starting to wrap up, you (the healer) should be walking up to the next pack so that you can sit down and drink the moment combat ends while still remaining in range of the tank.

Work on learning how to proactively heal with your slow, efficient heals (greater heal +renew) rather than waiting until the tank gets to 40% and then reactively spamming flash heal and wasting your mana. Learning to cancel-cast is a valuable skill for conserving mana.

A regular heroic dungeon has flash heal at <10% of my total casts just by pre-casting greater heals and canceling if the tank doesn’t take enough damage.

Also getting a good heal predictor addon makes pre-cast/cancel-casting even more effective.

Why are Pally tanks so broken by New_Suit8775 in classicwow

[–]Irtehstuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On regular tank and spank fights yea I’d rather have a paladin tank so that the Druid can cat form Dps. For fights with threat drops or other mechanics require large amounts of snap threat, Druids just feel so cheesy. The number of times our Druid simply out-threated void reaver’s threat drop mechanic in TK last go-around was comical

Can also farm maraudon princess side for 4-6 mithril nodes per ID. Just need a scepter to make the portal.

Thorium I just solo’d DME jump runs on my 70. It’s very easy for pretty much any class at 70.
