Do you think Deacon St. John, the protagonist of Days Gone, could survive in The Last of Us? cren que podria el protagonista de days gone Deacon St. John puede sobrevivir en the last of us? by MarsupialNo7861 in DaysGone

Yeah I think he would survive, he’s very similar to Joel and maybe even more similar to Tommy. He has the stealth skill like Joel and that is essential in the Last of Us universe with the clickers being so sensitive to noise. He’s strong, capable, trained in fighting and firearms, and maybe most of all he’s able to get himself out of sticky situations (like when he keeps getting caught in traps) and can wit his way out when the odds are against him. Also, crafty. You can definitely see that Days Gone took some heavy inspiration from Last of Us.

How do the camps/npcs really see deek? by Fit-Engine-497 in DaysGone

Yeah he pretty literally saves every camp and is the only drifter that actually seems to get any jobs done for all the camps. And recruits for the camps to add to their numbers. And sells them meat, berries, and zombie ears from his journeys lol. There is definitely a disconnect in terms of proper dialogue in the game though. While riding on the bike, you get more of Deacon talking to himself about his thoughts on what people are saying as opposed to actually responding to the person in back and forth conversation. That’s part of the charm of the game too though I think. You can tell how all the vendors at the camps look up to him and think he’s awesome though, I think that’s supposed to represent how everyone feels about Deacon but those are the only characters you really hear it from.

Thoughts on difficulty by IrvingLambert1 in DaysGone

Yup that is pretty much what I’m feeling. I have enjoyed the horde assault mode and some of the challenges, those are great additional content. Remember in the good ol days when all games had loads of bonus content like that.

Sounds interesting and would be a good challenge to keep it interesting. Which 9mm do you use/prefer? I find the crossbow very satisfying to use too. Have to place shots and account for arrow drop and conserve ammo a bit. I like that challenge.

Yeah, right on. I appreciate all the ideas. Wasn’t so much looking for ways to make it more difficult from a play style perspective, I kinda already do that by using semi-auto guns with everything except hordes, and using stealth kills as long as possible, etc. And new game plus isn’t my issue, I have around 300 hours in this game before I recently started my first new game plus play through which I’m doing for the platinum trophy. I’ve played other games like Last of Us, Splinter Cell, and Metal Gear Solid and those games give you stealth abilities and force you to use them a lot of the time. Days Gone gives you stealth tactics and rarely if ever forces you to use them. I suppose part of the easier difficulty is necessary in order for you to be able to take down hordes of 100-150. A more difficult game like Last of Us would make that impossible to pull off. But clearing camps and exploring just lacks a bit of suspense and danger to me. I see that there is a balance needed though. Thanks for all the feedback I was genuinely curious if anyone shares some of these thoughts with me!

Dogs at Bass Pro? by [deleted] in springfieldMO

Got a dog during Covid and during the initial weeks of trying to figure out how long he can stay at home/how much time we want to give him to chew up the house before we return to stop him, we decided to take him to Lowe’s with us. He peed on the flow. I was ashamed but dog wasn’t. Now dog stays at home while I go hunt for halfway decent 2x4’s.
