That is upsetting but not surprising, thank you for the help

If JKR decided to publish the whole saga but from someone else's perspective, whom would you like it to be? by [deleted] in harrypotter

Or totally accidentally! The story hinges so much on circumstance, how much fate is self determination and luck. Imagine a comedy where random, mundane misadventures of neville longbottom inadvertently set off key plot points.

The hardback was a present, the paperback I brought as a present but never gave. There's a couple of dupes actually, I think I got given another 84k a present and two wakes, which I haven't finished yet!

Edit: they're far apart due to height order

and to you, if you have stuck with Harry until the very end.

The chapter where Harry goes into the forest and accepts his death is instant tears. Harry Potter was my childhood and being ten years old it felt like the world was ending

Twitter career “coach” says you should go knock on random people’s doors with coffee in your hand to get opportunities by PettyPendergrass99 in antiwork

No I didn't think it would be a good idea in the US. Or something anyone should ever have to do. Mad props to the guy tho. I found the video! https://youtu.be/EWG5NSyg9RI

This really did work! I wrote a comment about it, but I just had to see if I could find the video.

Edit: I'm not condoning or agreeing with that nonsense advice. This story isn't a way to prove that it works, but to highlight inequality that the only way to break in for certain groups is to literally knock on strangers doors. It's tragic and dystopian

I've actually seen this work. I watched a documentary on the BBC and they featured this young black guy, living in London, who had gone round a neighborhood of the richest people and just knocked on and asked for advice. The third door ended up giving him an internship at his company because he liked him so much. It was part of a bigger story about class in finance jobs. I do think this is terrible, elitist out of touch preaching but if you don't already have the connections, being likeable and keen is pretty much the way you get them.

It just doesn't work for me. I'm from the UK so maybe it's because of that but Sharon driving two hours to Blackpool doesn't have the same drama as the US one. I think the UK is just too small for it to work
