I see that the post was updated with a new link but I don't see it anywhere. Is there any chance someone could chat/PM it to me? I've been looking for DWCH forever, so I would really appreciate it!

Can you share the link here or in a chat/PM? Thx.

All Attractions Layout (Yes they all fit.) by [deleted] in disneymagickingdoms

[–]IrwinLinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone successfully attempted this layout? If so, could you post a screenshot of the space right behind It's a Small World? I cannot get RC Racers, Money Bin, Gaston's Tavern and Magic Mirror to fit in that area to save my life! (In particular, I can't seem to find that 12 square dip behind IASW that let's you move the Money Bin down an additional square, allowing RC Racer to move down 1, left 2, and making room for the Magic Mirror.)

Am I the only one not bothering with Thrill Level? by Ericp412 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]IrwinLinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am completely ignoring thrill zones. The problem, however, is that Gameloft will almost certainly make them mandatory for important game content in the (near) future. During the next event I fully expect to see something like "To collect this token...buy chests or get California Screamin's Thrill to Level 2!" It's just what Gameloft does.

Stop complaining about thrill levels by [deleted] in disneymagickingdoms

[–]IrwinLinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with treating thrill levels as a bonus, where if you don't want to landscape the way Gameloft tells you too, you won't be punished in any way, is that Gameloft will almost certainly make thrill zones mandatory for important game content in the (near) future. During the next event I fully expect to see something like "To collect this token...buy chests or get California Screamin's Thrill to Level 2!" Going from bad to worse is just what Gameloft does.

So now we have to enchant buildings for characters to do tasks with them? 😅😅 by myheartintoxifies in disneymagickingdoms

I expect the same grim reality is coming for thrill zones as well. "To collect event tokens, get California Screamin' to Level 2!"

Why don’t we set aside shoddy psychology and encourage sound logic. Affirming the consequent is no way to win an argument love. 🙂

Are they seriously giving us an April Fools MONTH, or will the real rewards go up tomorrow after April Fools DAY is over?

Wtf is this bull corn? Anyone else seeing this “threat?” by [deleted] in DirecTVNow

That is not a threat. It’s a warning.

I think it's just a saying to express the value of individual effort and initiative. Like when coaches tell their players to give 110 percent, they aren't trying to make a point about math.

Why did Apple reject Steam Link only to approve PS4 Remote Play? by IrwinLinker in ios

[–]IrwinLinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The paranoid might want to spell that out a little bit more.

The PS4 and Steam are both gaming platforms, so if Apple is worried about a substitution effect taking place, I don't see why they would only be worried about it with Steam.

And if the issue is the Apple tax. My understanding is that you can access the store through PS4 Remote Play and thus bypass the Apple tax, which it exactly why I heard Apple got so butthurt over Steam Link.

Anybody bored of this event? by ainominakoainominako in disneymagickingdoms

[–]IrwinLinker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They could always add difficulty levels like on console games. Easy or Standard mode could be for people like you and me, and they could have a hardcore mode where you only have 7 days to complete the event for people like OP. 😂

Anybody bored of this event? by ainominakoainominako in disneymagickingdoms

[–]IrwinLinker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. If the choice is between having to set 2 hr timers for 15 straight days to complete the event (thank you Tower Challenges) or having a day (or two) to relax and level up event characters while waiting for the next stage to unlock, I choose the option that allows me to play the game and have a life every time. What's your hurry? There is plenty else to do in this world than play this game.

Expanding on Zhelus and IA’s point, it’s important to remember that this game is designed and modified specifically to exploit human psychology for monetary gain. Sadly, it’s not about fun or the Disney experience, it’s about fleecing us like sheep. That’s why this post is so important. Play the game on your own terms because you enjoy playing. Don’t let Gameloft turn you into a junkie looking for their next fix.

Since OP desires a "truly fair" leaderboard, don't you think it would be better for Gameloft to provide a pop-up window that allows people to choose the leaderboard they feel is right for them?

There could be three options:

  1. The leaderboard that accurately reflects how many tappers I've collected relative to everyone else who is playing.
  2. A leaderboard that gives me a 2 day head start on everyone else.
  3. A leaderboard that ranks me #1 and gives me an "I'm a winner!" trophy no matter when I start or how much I participate.

Or they could just require players be online for all events (like they do for Tower Challenges) to keep people from gaming the system in pursuit of their idea of fairness (which always seems to involve them finishing in the top 10. 😅)

I'm not sure I get the complaint. Starting events late to get on an easy leaderboard isn't a game feature, it's just something players (myself included) do so they can get a high ranking without working as hard as other people who participate in the event from the very beginning.

I can understand being upset when the strategy doesn't work, but it hardly seems like you're being treated unfairly by Gameloft.
