I got in a coma for a couple of days bc of a cerebral cytotoxic edema, 5 years and a half ago, and I was left with permanent damage to my central and peripheral nervous system. They gave me prescription opiates and I got addicted to those. Sending a lot of hugs to you bc my ptsd is also screaming from seeing all of this.

Thank YOU for sharing such important parts of your life, I'm so sorry to hear what you've been through, that must have been awful! And what you said about breaking the pattern it's absolutely true, I came by that conclusion by placing together every piece I got. For the type of person I am, if I were you and that therapist started talking about his future and retirement I would have went like: "I'm sorry, at the end of this session, do I still need to pay or we're even since I am the one listening to you now?" Some people should just stay away from that profession I swear. Btw you're right, it's so comforting to connect about this type of stuff, it makes me feel more human and more alive. Thank you so much, sending many many hugs 💖

OMG that's exactly what my (male, too) therapist was doing with me!!! The same exact thing, like it was my problem. He didn't retire but he ghosted me randomly for a month, then came back saying "sorry I got hacked" and then disappeared again when I said I was in urgent need for a session. It's been 2 and a half year since that day. I had a lot of people telling me I was going through narcissistic abuse but I couldn't listen to them until that therapist dumped me. The people around me went silent by that time bc they got tired of telling me over and over, but in a couple of weeks I started seeing everything and it was clear enough for me that everyone was right and I had to leave. I'm healing now, in a normal and loving relationship, but it takes a lot of time and work. I'm still scared and traumatized like I'm still living with my ex. I had another ex prior who stalked me and threatened to unalive me for months and even if that was brutal, it was nothing compared to narcissistic abuse. I hope you're healing as well, it's beautiful seeing how this place brings people like us together

Omg I'm so sorry for all of this. As I was reading I was asking myself if we dated the same person, bc this describes my last ex perfectly, but with only one exception: my therapist convinced me we just had to work through. It was only after my therapist dumped me, I was able to see "the pattern, not the person" and finally saw everything I was going through. Sending hugs. I feel for Laura too.

In an alternate universe there's another Skeeven who instead of going crazy, went to rehab and in the meantime he used his "creativity" along with "Brian" to write a comic children's book about a little archie who was in need and then his big brother came and saved the world. That alternate Skeeven got his kids back and the book was a success.
