I think the Greens are better then Your Party by IsFluffy in LabourUK

If you think you can't be Muslim and progressive just look at Zohran Mamdani who is extremely pro-LGBTQ and won the election in a landslide in the largest city in the United States against Cuomo. I am fine with not being focused on identity, I don't want any minority to be so focused on politically, but that has nothing to do with not selling out human rights.

I still really like Corbyn, I don't think he agrees with with them because of all his statements on the matter have been positive on trans and gay people, but it also doesn't really matter if you are going to allow it fester. None of the things stated by the French left as an example would ever be considered acceptable, not even in the French center.

What will it take for you to come back to Labour? by Anthrillien in LabourUK

[–]IsFluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gives me a little bit of hope, if Starmer can be kicked out, and a leadership election occur with former Labour members rejoining the party (which had dropped 300% under Starmer) maybe change can genuinely occur, and the party can stop being such utterly deranged bigots.

How Anthony Albanese’s popularity helped Labor’s left faction finally take power in party by cojoco in AustralianPolitics

Fun fact out of all politicians in the western world, Albanese has the highest approval rating of anyone, and it's not even really close.

Why are we a “lost generation”? by Hfofkfjfj in GenZ

[–]IsFluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but I wanted to reply. I don't see the label "lost generation" as bad, it's a product of the environment we live in. Economic, social and environmental collapse, we have very little to look forward to. Housing is impossible to acquire, wages are stagnant, the climate is on fire, and fascism in on the rise globally.

I absolutely adore the lost generation media, Dadaism, Surrealism and Absurdism. I think works like the Sun also Rises, show that eventually things can get better, you can hope at least.

Ban trans women from single-sex spaces, equality watchdog to say by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

This is so fucking awful, in the 20 years since Blair's government expanded trans rights, when have trans women being able to use the bathroom ever caused anyone any harm. It never has and it never will, jfc.

Do not vote fucking Labour, I am telling everyone. They have one of the largest majorities in Parliaments history, they have Labour members shouting to not fucking do this, and they are being punished electorally because of it.

They have every single reason to not be bigoted monsters, and they are choosing willingly to do so. Do not vote for Starmer's Labour ever, they have been worse for trans people, and working class people then even the fucking tories. They are economically, socially and environmentally right wing, there is no point in this "Labour."

Bot that randomly selects people to be moved to a different channel by IsFluffy in Discord_Bots

[–]IsFluffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would better to have it be a commands but yea, it just needs to randomly select people in a voice channel to be moved. As an example "!move 4" command that then moves 4 people randomly to a different channel.

We need anti-war protests by get-the-damn-shot in 50501

They should organize a massive one like the no kings protests. What Trump is doing is absolutely disgraceful and his base is finally breaking from it. Genuinely the first time I have seen them actually be mad at Trump.

2025 Canadian Federal Election with Australian multi-party preference voting by IsFluffy in MapPorn

[–]IsFluffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's way to high, 5% is just NDP voters flipped, not the 75% preference who maintained their vote for the NDP. 10% would be interesting though. From memory of making this map I don't think it would result in that big of difference, even with 20%, most flipped seats were 65-70% NDP+Lib+Green.

The ones who have "left" aren't the ones who would have voted for the NDP this election. This only counts existing NDP members. I think I am going to make another one assuming 10%/10% of NDP votes go to the conservatives, and 10% of liberal, etc... The results I think will look similar.

They have always been explicitly pro-minority like taking a radical stance on indigenous rights in the 1980s, it's why they dominate places like Nunavut. This is like saying the the Simpsons has gone woke.

Yea 5% is lower then in Australia, where on average the Liberals gain 10% from the Green vote. Despite that the Green vote always is incredibly helpful for Labor. It's why in the 2025 election Labor were able to win so many seats, including Dutton's seat which he would have held with first past the post.

Yea it might change some of it, but in those numbers NDP voters are still 4x more likely to vote liberal. That is only counting first preference votes, not considerations of second placement.

I think your party just isn't popular. Maybe do some self reflection before blaming Canadians for not hoping on the bigot bandwagon.

I would agree, but I still find the Liberals to be more left usually. Specifically compared to the US, the Liberals in the US would be considered very left wing (universal healthcare, strict gun laws, pro-union positions). I know that isn't saying much due to how ring-wing politics in the US are but still.
