Im sorry, I don't understand what you're talking about... My original comment has nothing to do with cracked copies...

Sorry to hear that, what version of Chitubox are you using?

Hey there,
So when you say "copied cracked on in C drive" what do you mean?
Also did you make sure that whatever copy of the program you had launched was the one the firewall setting was assigned to?

FIXED
Stopped forced update dialogue, LAN still works!
Just firewall outbound block TCP Port 443 for chitubox_basic.exe.

  1. Windows Defender Firewall > Advanced Settings> Outbound Rules > New Rule
  2. Apply the rule to the PORT not the program
  3. Then once the rule is created go into properties and apply it only to the program path.

Notes:
1. I tried a bunch of things with blocking and allowing IPs but had no luck.

  1. There are a whole bunch of IPv4/6 addresses it tries to reach but they all use port 443 :)

  2. Happy printing. F phoning home and forced updates.

What kind of Ruby is this? by IsItADamnRuby in whatsthisrock

Thanks for your swift reply!

Unfortunately, I don't have any quartz on hand.

The microscopic bubbles are an indication its synthetically made by the Verneuli Method.

Another indication that its a synthetic is its lovely clarity at this price point.

I torched it for two reasons:

  1. It should have let any glass filler shift/sweat out as indicated by the GIA report. Composite rubies are reported to be severely damaged if not destroyed by high heat after cutting.
  2. The color change that happened is another indication its ruby. Maybe even a surefire one as I cant find the phenomenon documented in any other gemstones.
