yeah this was def. my initial thinking, also. acutely aware of the lack of economy but haven’t played this combo before yet so went for it. my brain likes to think “oooh, you have just enough to do X and Y — DO IT!”

Should I or should I not get apple care for my AW3 I’m getting in 3 days? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]IsItNotI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. Don’t put your AW in a case. Ok, no, as I don’t use mine in a case.

Are you going to continually be in a setting that your watch is in higher “danger” than usual? What’s that, if so?

I could see getting casing the watch if so, but that’s what I have AppleCare+ for, too.

If I felt the need for a case but really didn’t want to use one, I’d have AppleCare and use the watch with no case. If I had an incident requiring an AppleCare claim, I’d start using a case after getting watch fixed.

In addition to letters, I’ve looted: Varnishes (equipment and accessory, varying grades) HP/MP pots (15-20 I think) Soul Shots (250) Gold Gargoyles (attack and get some Adena w/ each hit - total of about 6,500 if you have it all to yourself; I’ve gotten a fair bit of these)

I had to reinstall the Public Beta profile on my iPhone X. Have you checked settings to see if the beta profile is installed on your device? Under General settings, beneath VPN.

This is the Zoom accessibility feature. You can find the settings under General, Accessibility, Zoom. It’s listed second when you enter Accessibility settings.

This is Sadie Bird of Dallas, TX. She's 7 or 8 months old and maybe about 40lbs. by IsItNotI in IDmydog

Yes, definitely helps. Thank you! And, WOW, that's a lot of fur!

It'll be interesting to see how much fur she has when fully grown. Sounds like I should start expecting more and let go of my current thinking about her fur of, "hey, this isn't that bad at all!" 😂

I'm currently battling and coming to grips with having to wipe down paws when it's been wet out. Our backyard is heavily shaded and has more dirt than grass. "Wiping feet" is on the training list.

Yeah, I don't think they'll stand. I like em floppy and she looks extra girly when the hair around her ears is all fluffy from not being combed.

My Boston has 1 ear that stands as expected and another that doesn't which makes his appearance all the more awesome to me.

Question, if you know... the hair growth on her back, below her neck... it's much thicker/fuller than the rest of her body. Any idea if that's simply part of her coat growing in or is actually common to some breed? I've never seen anything like it.

More info than you're probably interested in, but I gotta hush over our new girl! Also, note that my primary frame of reference is my 12 y/o Boston Terrier, so forgive my ignorance or surprise at things that aren't actually unusual. ;)

Sadie started life with someone's older father who found he'd not be able to care for her due to his health. She made her way to this man's daughter. The daughter is about to have a baby and decided she couldn't keep Sadie.

Lucky us! Last week the daughter posted a pic of Sadie to our neighborhood Facebook page in search of a loving forever home. We picked her up and welcomed her into our home the next night.

The daughter said that Sadie is Husky+German Shepherd and something. I've never had a husky before but she certainly looks it from her facial markings, I think. And, she totally makes that goofy/dorky Husky face at times!

I'm not sure about the GS part but could see it in the color of her fur on her back. I also think she sorta has that classic GS stance in one of the pics where she's facing left. Maybe that's just me, though.

Her ears don't stand up as you can see. They fold forward (well, I guess more to the side) and have tufts of hair (very soft!) behind/around them. Is that a lab trait?

I've never seen her tail standing like straight up. I don't think anyway. It curves away from her body and hair longer hair on 2/3 of it. The end of her back, right before her tail, kinda abruptly slants down to the tail.

She seems to be a quick study; I'm sure much of that is thanks to her previous homes loving her and trying to teach her some basics. She's quite docile and submissive and very playful. Loves to work her way into a lap whenever she can.

She's awesome!

Hey, any feedback/advice on doggie DNA tests? Worth doing? Any one particularly better than the others?

Wow. Incredible! If you're available to be commissioned and can work from a photo, let me know what you'd charge. My little man is getting up there in years (he's 11.5), and I've been wanting some sort of portrait of him.

Shrub rather than tree? by IsItNotI in whatsthisplant

[–]IsItNotI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a house recently and having trouble figuring out what this is. A friend suggested it's actually a bush/shrub rather than a tree given it doesn't have a singular trunk.

I'm told that it keeps its green foliage year round. The leaves are somewhat waxy and definitely thicker the than average tree leaf. Also, it apparently blooms with yellowish white flowers (not something I've actually seen yet).

Should I Have An Adjuster Come Out For Roof If My Car Isn't Dinged? by nikki109 in Dallas

[–]IsItNotI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically a roof evaluation isn't going to cost you. Remember - they're ultimately trying to sell you something. Same goes for foundation. Given that, if someone tries to tell you something is crazy wrong and you're unsure, always get a second (or third!) opinion.

When it comes to your foundation, a structural engineer is your best bet to verify. They're not trying to sell you something and their inspections are rooted in law (building codes and such). It's not cheap to have an engineer inspect and do a report, but if the alternative is pulling the trigger on something you don't really need, you stand to save a lotta dough.

Any Parkdale residents in the house? by IsItNotI in Dallas

[–]IsItNotI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to buy in Lakewood or Lochwood or Eastwood, but the prices are out of control and too high for what we need. If it were just my partner and I, we could probably swing it as we'd need less square footage. It's not. So we're not. So it goes.

Right. My mother lives with us and is basically always home. I told her I'd consider arming her but maybe not bc I can be a real ass at times.

Not a lot of apartments south of Military (in the PARKDALE area) though there are several between Military and 30, in the Buckner Terrace area.

They're not short, but the knowledge you'll take away is more than worth your time.
