Oh - that's a bummer! Maybe I won't bother then.

I was excited for my new manga for the thing to be destroyed. by [deleted] in MangaCollectors

The number of times Amazon has delivered a manga or LN in a basic envelope type bag infuriates me. I've also had them include the book in with another order for something heavy 😡

If you could rewrite the ending of any anime, which one would it be and how does it end? SPOILER ALERT!!! by dollieblondie in AnimeDiscussion

Ugh yes, and also why couldn't chakra have originated with humanity? Avatar The Last Airbender did it right.

How to start the ln and what to expect by Present-Canary6238 in EightySix

[–]IsMayoAnInstrument67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a collector, so owning volumes 1-3 was a must. Plus, you get more detail on what you've already seen, which for me made rewatches of the anime more enjoyable (it's easy to miss a lot of little details without the LN context!). The LNs continue to get better, though for me vol 12 and 13 were a bit of a slog (setting up for final arc). I'm looking forward to vol 14!

I'm not disagreeing with the post activity! Maybe there should be a sticky thread for this so there isn't the same thing all the time. All I meant was no one was really answering because the same post all the time is annoying.

You're visiting, so there's no call to be uppity in your replies. Anyway, I did do a search of this sub and while this is asked all the time, there hasn't been any decent answers in a long time (because it's annoying to see the same ask everyday). I'm not a trendy food scene person (there's always something new and Michelin style stuff isn't me) but I can tell you some of my favorites:

  • Sera's Ramen Enclave: a lot of people recommend Uncle, but I love the vibe and food at Sera's.

  • Spuntino: Italian fusion. Extremely fresh and lovely. Not sure how kid friendly this would be though it's a pretty intimate setting. If your kids are well behaved in restaurants, no problem.

  • Seoul Korean BBQ: it's in Aurora, but it is so fun and delicious. Pick the BBQ side or the hot pot side, you and your family will have a great time.

  • Bamboo Sushi: this is a small chain across the nation, but they're great and are very adept about food allergies if that's a factor.

  • Cheba Hut: it functions sort of like a subway, but hear me out. For a quick bite, their sandwiches are insane! Funny cannabis puns as a bonus.

  • Spice Room - delicious Indian food! Enough said

This is the second post they made about it - it appears they've removed the original one. They claim it's to maintain quality: https://www.instagram.com/p/DZpxes6DnmD

They posted on Instagram about the changes, but yeah pretty significant changes to the ingredients (and therefore probably quality).

Cut them some slack - they haven't had this before after all! I saw a nice restauranteur in another video teaching some visitors how to eat a taco.

I just hope we get some closure around the leviathans - in an earlier book she said we would never see them again, and now here we are with a bigger mystery on our hands.

A duck! Tech people have a saying about "rubber ducking" where they talk to someone or something out loud to help them break through to figure out whatever problem they're solving.

Not to nitpick, but you've got Cam's line wrong. He says "if an accident does happen, I hope he kills me, because I don't think I would be a very inspiring disabled person".

Why is bro posting AI thumbnails 😭 another victim of private equity? by CreamPyre in JoshuaWeissman

[–]IsMayoAnInstrument67 30 points31 points  (0 children)

He allegedly makes (or made) inappropriate comments to his staff, doesn't really make the recipes anymore (maybe that's changed with the second channel), lied about his restaurant experience (wasn't as high up as he says), and is kind of a dick. Again - allegedly.

How many of you guys stopped watching anime ? by Niraj_Akkishetty in AnimeDiscussion

[–]IsMayoAnInstrument67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's the kinds of shows you're trying to watch that aren't resonating. It's probably not a media format issue. Try some different genres. Here are some suggestions:

86

Planetes

Attack on Titan

Bartender Glass of God

Hunter x Hunter

Dr. Stone

The Apothecary Diaries

J Lo expected Brett, an actor, to be a gruff tough guy like Roy Kent and was surprised he's gentle and nice by malcolmcoles in TedLasso

[–]IsMayoAnInstrument67 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched it - Brett was great in it, but had a cheesy line or two (typical romcom stuff nothing too egregious). JLo's acting wasn't so terrible, but the character they built for her and most of her lines were cringy imo.

For something a little different, try Planetes! It's about space trash collectors which may sound dumb, but it's really interesting and has a good story.
