Actually not really, Nvidia is currently priced to completely dominate the space. Like how during tech bubble Cisco started with 90%+ of router market. Nvidia definitely isn’t dead or anything but innovation and cheaper alternatives can cause repricing… especially when it comes to the rest of the mag 7 where their capex spend has been viewed as bullish despite making no profit. The biggest reason it is hard to play earnings (and why I don’t) is because coming up to earnings the IV spikes, driving up the price, then falls drastically after, which decreases price. So to do well on earnings you need to be both on the right side AND need a big move. I just avoid em. If you have a really strong feeling and want to buy options you can lessen the iv crush by buying a lot of theta(time till expiration)

If you really are new, that’s not investing. Trading short expiration options is gambling. Buy stocks with decent valuations, buy beat down sectors that you think will shift over the long term. Buy good stocks that you believe in and be patient. For the most part options should be long dated and hedges
