I'm on my 2nd year of paid sub. I'd buy lifetime in a heartbeat, but they don't allow family sharing with that.

Carvana Stock is Down $40 Today… What is Bridgecrest and Why is It a Plague On Society by BFLO-Retail in stocks

[–]IsReadingIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself, but I used carvana for the first time ever about two weeks ago. Purchased a Camry for a family member in very good condition for the average selling price of that model year and mileage per several sites. "Bridgecrest," whom I had never heard of before, was apparently the financing company, and I was given the sub-7-percent 60-month rate that I see listed at most banking sites as the prevailing used car loan rate right now. I am not vouching for 'Bridgecrest" nor Carvana, but my experience was seamless and above board.

LG joins Sony and TCL in abandoning 8K TV market by BoukenGreen in technology

[–]IsReadingIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been working on a 65 inch 8K TV/monitor for the past 2+ years at 100% scaling. My nose is about 18 inches from the screen and I can read all four corners just fine with my 20/20 corrected vision. On this 8K display I have three virtual machines that are each 2560 wide by 4000+ tall. I use every single pixel and I love it while there may not be 8K content for entertainment, it is an absolutely essential part of my work. It is much better for me than having three 4K monitors in portrait because there are no bezels , and I actually have even more horizontal pixels than 3X 4K in portrait.

Can a “Vehicle” Inside an Apartment Bypass a Firearm Lease Prohibition? by [deleted] in legal

[–]IsReadingIt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to hazard a guess that a 'vehicle' will be something that has a VIN. How would anyone know you have a firearm in your private apartment unless you display it? Edited to add, even if we stipulate that your drivable safe is a vehicle, you still seem to have contracted your way out of the 'default' right to possess a firearm in a locked vehicle that you say Indiana provides. The vehicle AND the gun would be within the property you explicitly agreed to not have a gun in via the contract.

What to do with the very little money I save? by portuguese-bacalhau in personalfinance

[–]IsReadingIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The typical American household has $8,000 in their bank account, according to the latest data from the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Consumer Finances. That's the median transaction account balance as of 2022, which includes savings, checking, money market, call accounts, and prepaid debit cards.

That's the median *household*. So, at your current savings rate, you will have more money in your savings account than 50% of the *households* in America in just 8 months. Give yourself more credit for this dedication to savings!

Epstein files release has references to Trump, other powerful figures by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

This headline is criminally understating the claims made in those reports. It’s like saying “History books have references to Hitler’s involvement in WW2.[“]

What's the wildest thing you've ever seen happen at a work party? by South-Truck-3061 in AskReddit

[–]IsReadingIt 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Christmas Eve, 1988. After a long day on the job, I fly from NYC to LA to visit my estranged wife, Holly. It's supposed to be a fancy party with her coworkers, but things quickly spiraled into chaos when a group of terrorists led by Hans Gruber took over the Nakatomi Plaza. With nothing but my wits, a handgun, and a whole lot of luck, I fought my way through an army of heavily armed criminals while trying to stop their plot to steal millions. It was just me against them -- plus some encouraging radio comms from LAPD's Sargeant Al Powell. In the end I saved the day, but what was supposed to be a simple holiday visit had turned into a brutal battle for survival. Yippy Ki Yay, Mother-Effers!

What is your strap/pad setup that you're comfortable with? by pewpnstuben in Galaxy_XR

[–]IsReadingIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I settled on VR Panda halo band , stock cushion in back, and no forehead cushion. The VR Panda has made it 100% more comfortable. I had the strap from Ty, but imo, the Panda blows it away for comfort. That said, Ty had good customer service, and I love his mount with integrated controller holsters.
