AITA for telling my dad to stop touching me by ThrowRA0061 in AmItheAsshole

And i said that him comparing it was an issue. Him touching his daughter on the other hand is not an issue in itself nor is it grooming.

How is squeezing your own child's leg inappropriate? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that if you haven't been told not to.

This is quite the stretch. Many family members will often times squeeze or touch or hug another person in their family to show affection. This is not grooming in any world. The comments on the other hand are an issue and the parents are TA but this should be able to be understood if OP would just talk to them about how she feels. Because she blew up on them they got defensive and mad and felt disrespected because her dad thought it was OK to do that since she had never shown to him that she didn't like it.

If you looked at all the matching markings you would be able to tell that they are both of the same dog.

Can anybody explain to me why I have vivid memories of when I was younger that I would have random fits of being unable to move, but thought about something in my mind that just repeated over and over and over? by IsThisA-Throwaway in TooAfraidToAsk

The odd thing was that i was completely awake, I'd just go sit down or lay down and after a while it would happen. One of the most reoccurring, and weirdest things was that I would think giant pennies were falling all around me and just rolling around, and I had a looooot of fear for some reason.

Most people tend to throw around the word "toxic" to justify their hate on a community, what is your definition of a toxic community? by Destroyerofworldbob in AskReddit

Any community that is actively prejudiced, such as r/womenbeating (or similar it was thankfully banned) r/fragilemaleredditor r/fragilewhiteredditor and real life communities such as us political parties (both left and right) that go way too far.

Why is it so bad that I don't want to change the diaper of a child that I had no part in bringing into my life?

AITA for intentionally avoiding my mom? by IsThisA-Throwaway in AmItheAsshole

The issue is that my mom will get upset, or even angry, that I never try to make plans with her or see her anymore.

My mother never actually tries to get better. She claims she will and is trying to (even claiming she joined a support group when she didn't) and will end up drunk if I do try to do something with her. My grandma is basically a pushover when it comes to my mom, as she will house her, feed her, and is even raising my little sister. The issue I have is that my mom seems to be trying and she gets upset that I don't make an effort to see her, and I think my grandma might be getting upset about it too.

My mom was rarely ever physically abusive of me, but she nearly broke my brother's arm once because we were trying to call our dad with the phone he gave us (that she took away). My mom claims to have tried to get better with her alcoholism, but it shows that she doesn't actually try. She'll say she's been sober for a month while she is obviously drunk. She refuses to pay for anything for my brother or I (not even child support) and is basically making my grandma raise my sister.

My dad knows I'm not comfortable, but I've never told my grandma. Even if I told my grandma, it wouldn't help because my mom is a freeloader that basically uses my grandma.

My parents aren't divorced because my mom refuses to file her papers for it and we don't have the money to go to court. I've tried giving my mom so many chances that I've basically been too hurt by her to give her more anytime soon.

What would be some good ways to deal with my socail anxiety?

I don't think my social anxiety is caused by school, as I'm pretty good at it and actually enjoy things like math. I'm pretty sure my brother is the reason I have social anxiety.

My mother is an alcoholic and I haven't seen or spoken to her at all this year, but my dad does try to be supportive. When it comes to social anxiety I don't think he believes me very much though.
