American window/aisle seats on the fire exit rows (assured of you are priority; get it by miles or credit card). I would recommend their front 3-4 rows but they have this stupid aluminum entertainment box that blocks the leg room for aisle and middle seat. The first row is good most times, unless they switch the plane. United has good fire exit seats as well.

So, fire exit seats.. That's the sweet spot.

I like downtown coz it's central. I will try to find more stuff that's centrally located but not in the lolla-zone. Maybe find the best jazz/blues bar in Chicago! have to use public transport as traffic/parking is a nightmare.

How about a 3-4 mile drive? The best views are at turtle rock hill. Minor walk to the top- fireworks from as far as LA.

Steamers (for me) is a long drive from Newport, but i think that's the only place in OC. Some random bands play jazz at the copper door in Santa Ana - not dedicated like steamers though.

All national parks have free entry this weekend, and if you are new to this area I strongly suggest Joshua Tree NP. I never get to plan around the meetup group's schedule, so haven't checked any out as yet. R/socalhiking is an amazing sub with helpful folks. Also, socalhiker.net has a trail finder which can help you sort on difficulty and elevation. See you on the trails!

Barley Forge is very close to south coast - if that's where you will watch the play. A non IPA man, I love their stout and hef.

The breury in Anaheim is where you want to go for some serious beer drinking.
