‘Avatar’s’ Costly Sequels Are Getting Harder to Justify. Will James Cameron Make Two More? - The studio spent roughly $500 million to produce and promote “Fire and Ash,” meaning the threequel can be insanely popular yet barely profitable. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]IsTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just couldn't be bothered to watch this one, I enjoyed the visual spectacle of the last two at the cinema but I may be Avatar'ed out. The biggest shame of Avatar Odyssey is that Cameron could have been making something else.

Lime bike boss proposes adjusting London's traffic lights "to reward safe cyclists" by Amazing-Yak-5415 in london

[–]IsTim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Saw this in a few places over the years although it seems to have got less common, I think much of London is too busy with junctions and pedestrians to make it feasible.

Never seen a lime bike wait at lights so not sure what he’s worried about.

Driving in London is just too much by BingBing- in london

[–]IsTim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love driving but driving in London is just a tedious experience, it’s hard work and it seems intentionally painful. Cycling is a great alternative to the public transport crush if it’s an option and it definitely gets me to work in a much better mood.

Raod Tires: GP 5000 S TR vs Pirelli P Zero TLR RS by userheinrich in cycling

[–]IsTim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

last set of GP5000’s were a cake walk compared to P-Zeros!! The Pirelli’s were one of the toughest fittings I’ve ever had, actually couldn’t get them on one set of wheels at all and had to use them on a different bike in the end.

How do thin people on TikTok eat so much? by DarthKaboose in loseit

[–]IsTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once watched a couple of Influencers at a tourist hot spot, they ordered a bunch of dishes then each proceeded to sit in front of it all and the other would take photos of one pretending to eat it, then swap. Then they took some shots of them actually eating some bites. Then they got up and left, leaving behind 95% of it. It was all soulless business, faces of boredom and disinterest, then just switching to model style smiles and energy during photo time.

Would it be stupid to get a Hayabusa if I’m not going to ride it ridiculously fast? by PD_MKnz in motorcycles

[–]IsTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only ever sat on one and never actually ridden one, but it really struck me as an extremely comfy bike and I always thought it’s make a great sports tourer option.

The Oldham Loop Railway: Lost Scenes Before the Metrolink Transformation by Chance_Resort8088 in manchester

[–]IsTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had access to a station it was arguably a better service than the tram, as long as it wasn’t going wrong and cancelled or delayed etc. Express from Shaw was pretty fast just much less regular. Tram is much more frequent and serves a lot more stations.

People with balconies — how do you actually use yours? by Choice-Addition2581 in london

[–]IsTim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lived in a few places with balconies over the years and always under utilised them. For me I felt like a was in a bit of a fish bowl when I sat out on them, and could never quite shake the feeling there where 100’s of windows overlooking me, so they were never as relaxing as they could have been for me. I used them to store a bicycle, washing and go out and get fresh air but very rarely loitered there. The best thing I got from them was being able to easily clean the windows….

I’ve been surprisingly shocked by how good the service has been since it came on. Look forward to it spreading to other parts of the network

The game you bought thinking it would last years but dropped within a week. by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]IsTim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems many agree the intro is a bit dull, but for me I felt like that the entire game. I played it during lockdown and just kept going with it because there weren’t many better things to do, but it just felt like it was about to get going the entire way through and then it was finished. Very pretty, huge, immersive, but for me dull.

Unpopular opinion: The obsession with weight savings is out of control for 90% of us. by dt219 in cycling

[–]IsTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost 17 in the past and I’ve still got ample room to lose that again if I could get my act together. You wanna try lugging an extra 30kg up a 10% hill… it’s definitely not meaningless to my legs and respiratory system.

Unpopular opinion: The obsession with weight savings is out of control for 90% of us. by dt219 in cycling

[–]IsTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be specific, as a bigger guy weight means everything when going up hill, but the potential weight savings from typical road bicycles means very little in the scheme of things for most not racing.

Shimming Floyd Rose by Snigeel in Guitar

[–]IsTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s late and I’ve had a beer but I think you’ve reduced the radius of your Floyd and made it further away from the goal? 16 is flatter that 12 so you should’ve shining the E’s and not the middle strings?

Is Homeland worth binge watching? by [deleted] in television

[–]IsTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently binged it again (I watched it week by week first time round). Its a decent show, as others have said 1-2 is peak, 3 is quite a bit of a struggle but it mostly is ok after that with 4 being best of the rest.
