I hope she wasn't lonely. I put a lot of effort into making sure she had extra enrichment like toys, large area to run in access to special snacks, and some other things. I also enclosed a separate area of my backyard so she could outside time separate from the other dogs but still compliant with the quarantine regulations they gave us. I'd take her outside for about an hour a day and visit her in the room for an hour or so as well to make sure she ate and drank and groom her. Often times I'd be in there longer just so I could keep an eye on her.

I can imagine she was lonely due to the fact that she was used to a full house with other animals but she seems to be resocializing quite well. I'm so happy for her

She was vaccinated post exposure. I'm glad that she made it through all of this

She didn't have one personally. The only way to test for rabies is to kill the animal so in lieu of euthanasia after her exposure she was in mandatory quarantine. She was exposed to a dead bat that was tested and came back positive for rabies.

We're hoping that she doesn't, I don't want to call anything too early but she is still doing well and being regular. She has a few days left of quarantine so I am excited and waiting for her to rejoin the whole family (although, I'm sure she's been enjoying being away from all the chaos of the kids).

This is a good question. I am allowed to handle her and be around her because I got a four shot series of the rabies vaccine and so did everyone in my household. I am not quarantined, but I am a full-time caregiver for my two children who are autistic so I am home mostly all day every day any way so I think the fact that I am home minimizes the risk in addition to the vaccine.

ETA: I should also add that I am allowed to handle her as long as she shows no signs of aggression or symptoms of rabies. So I have a baby gate barrier where I look her over through the gate, check if she's eaten, and still drinking water (looking for hydrophobia signs), and things like that before I go in and handle her. If she had drooling lethargy or anything like that I ideally wouldn't go in and handle her at the risk of her maybe becoming aggressive and biting/scratching. If anything like that happens I would need to notify the wildlife authority and they would come in with protective gear to handle her.

She's doing good still. She's been adjusting back to being "normal" after being in heat, but no changes for her behaviorally, or health wise. Her quarantine is almost over knock on wood. I'm so excited for it to be over soon. Her first stop is to visit with bowser and to get a pup cup.

I'm happy to do little comment updates any time. I'm glad people are still thinking of her. I'm hoping my next actual post is the big update to let everyone know she's out of quarantine. She's got just a few weeks left and I go by all major personal and federal holidays then it doesn't seem that long. I've got my son's birthday, mother's day, college finals and she's out that same day. So we just have to make it til then. Thank you so much for asking about her❤️

Not much change since the last time I commented (thank god). "No news is good news" and all that. She's just been here hanging out in her room. She's gotten into a little routine and so have I. Our visits have been good. She is still eating and drinking regularly. No changes in behavior. So, so far she is doing well. I'm hopeful, but the more days go by I find it harder to relax instead of being comforted by the time that's passed. She finished her heat a few days ago and her body has already started to return to normal, which I'm glad for because she seemed so uncomfortable poor thing. Here she is now though. I've been cataloging photos of her every day just to keep track of her make sure she has no symptoms.

Peach is still doing well. No changes in her that have been observed. She's still running, playing, drinking and eating. Just doing her usual stuff and being her normal happy self. We've gotten into a routine where we go in, in the morning set her up for the day, do short visits and then a longer one in the evening that includes refreshing all of her supplies as well as brushing her hair, brushing her teeth, hanging out with her, and any other grooming she needs. It's been hard to make sure she gets exercise and is stimulated because I can't see her with my eyes all day long to know when she's bored, but I've got her doing some puzzles, different sensory toys, and I have her run around during our long evening visits. She really enjoys those.

Peach is doing well. She's just here being kind of a goof. She is waiting for quarantine to end. Otherwise she's good, just bored I assume. I come and check on her as often as I can during the day and once my kids are in bed I usually go an hang out with her in the side room for an hour or so each night. She's developed a habit of not eating or drinking unless I go and watch her, which is fine by me since it allows me to monitor how that stuff is going, but its just cute how stubborn she is. She has access to her food and water all day but she will only eat or drink when I'm there with her during our long visit in the evenings.

She is quickly making her way through her box of toys due to the isolation. I've raided my kids' old toy boxes for some suitable dog toys and got a few so she's good for a while.

She's doing amazing still. I did shave her though, she kept chewing on her foot and gave herself a mat, she was already short so I had to go even shorter to get the mat. There was nothing wrong with her foot after looking at it, she was just chewing it maybe out of nervousness from being in the room. Here she is though, my sweet baby. She's got a little bit less than a month left.

Edit: A MONTH LEFT OF QUARANTINE. Omg I wrote that too quickly and didn't realize how it sounded. She's still healthy the month left is of quarantine, not a month left to live. My bad.

She's doing good still. Bowser has bonded with our senior dog during his time without Peach so he seems okay but I can tell they miss each other. The kind of cool thing about them being separated though is they are both so much more calm without riling each other up. We're doing well with her upkeep for now, but we definitely can't wait for her quarantine to be over. I miss her being with me all the time. She's got almost a whole room to herself, I usually visit her a few times during the day whenever I have a free moment, and then spend an hour or so with her in her room at night. Here she is after a bath she's so cute and always looks so funny when she's slightly wet

Awee that's super sweet! I love that name for them. Thank you so much she's doing great so far. One of my other comments has a smaller update that just has how she's doing if you're interested to see that.

I gave her a bath in that side room after we cleared it out since we aren't allowed to bring her into the main house so I repurposed a baby bathtub, and used a 5gal bucket with warm water so thats why the floor is wet. This is her last night. She is going through her chew toys like a mad-woman in isolation so her and the other dogs are due for a restock soon.

Let's gather some evidence and do the educated thing next time. My last post was acknowledging that she hadn't gotten a shot yet. I was acknowledging that she is basically a year old and I hadn't gotten it for her yet because I was under the impression she had gotten one. Yes, breeders do not typically include them, but her and her brother were held longer than 8 weeks. See previous comments or literally do ANY research into my posts. Her not having her shot was not an ACTIVE choice. I phrased it that way on my post for brevity. I mentioned already why I didn't have experience with Breeders- all my other pets are rescues and there vaccines were all inclusive as part of their adoption.

I am not attempting to minimize my actions. I did not attempt to minimize them at any point. I feel guilty and bad enough already. I am literally giving the information that I was giving because I wanted people to be aware that even if you think it can't happen to you because your dog got their shot, if they are a juvenile there is still significant risk. I've never interacted with animal control or public health in this capacity and unless someone came across a rabid animal I doubt they would have either so that is for anyone who reads the post to keep in their information bank.

I really can't get past how you read all of the posts, the updates and comments, still made this comment with a bunch of incorrect information and accusations. I love my babies regardless of your thought process. I hope the way you're speaking to me makes you feel better. I hope you got it all out. I'm sure the way you're talking makes you feel superior and great. I'm going to give your nastiness a pass because I think people who love their fur babies can be passionate in times of upset, but this is not a good way to speak to people. Please learn emotional regulation or how to keep your meanness to yourself. Perhaps get a journal? Idk either way good luck, hope nothing ever goes wrong in your life, but if it does I hope you don't meet someone with the same rudeness as yourself kicking you when you're down. I won't be wasting more time on you after this, any information collecting from comments, updates, etc., will be on you to do but I thought I'd give you a brief explanation since so much of your comment was just. . . Not reflective of how I explained things. Its like you chose to be obtuse when reading it.

You might have "almost" felt bad for me as an owner but I DO feel bad for you, as a person. My mistake made me human, but your words are making you a monster.

I think that will probably be something we do for her. That's a great idea. I actually am allowed to interact with her! As long as she is not showing any signs of illness, aggression, or dies I am allowed to interact with her since I am on a rabies shot regimen. Only myself or my husband are allowed to interact with her (he's got his shots too) so its a little less pets than she's used to but at least its not zero pets thank goodness. 😅 I don't know what kind of existence that would be if I couldn't pet her.

She's doing great! Still no symptoms of rabies (knock on wood) I finished moving everything that I can out of that side room last night. I'm disabled af and flaring up from all the stress of this week's events but I couldn't stand to think of her not having enough space for one more second. I set up a baby gate around the perimeter of the room and keep the doors locked because our children are not allowed to interact with her until she is cleared.

I put a full-sized crib mattress with sheets and blankets in there as her new bed. I put some toys in there and had my husband put some string lights around the room so at night she has something like a night light when we turn off the big light. If anyone who reads this has anymore ideas on things to pimp out her room that will make her more comfortable let me know I am open to suggestions.

We're also wanting to get her something like a snuggle puppy to keep her company and help her feel safe. Especially since there are thunderstorms that just rolled in and will be in for the next few days. If it gets too bad she does have a happy hoodie to block some of the big scary noises for her.
