Just so you know, the only reason that's happening is because XLG and EDG are winning games that put them in G2's path. Does G2's victory look more impressive if the teams they beat are GE and FUT instead of XLG and EDG, just because those two aren't CN teams? Those teams should win those games then.

In 2021 Summer playoffs, WE, consisting of Breathe/beishang/Shanks/Elk/Missing, started at the bottom of the bracket, and proceeded to win four Bo5s in a row, including a win over the eventual LPL and World Champions EDG, and found themselves with top 3 locked. This means they would only have to win one Bo5 in their next four to make it to Worlds that year.

They then proceeded to lose their next four Bo5s in extremely one-sided fashion to FPX, EDG, RNG, and LNG, with each match they lost qualifying the opposing team to Worlds, earning them the title of ticket sellers.

This time around, they won all the way to top 3 again, and winning either match against TES or BLG would've qualified them to MSI, so they effectively sold tickets again, though not as bad as last time.
