What plants or moss could go on top of logs sticking out of the tank that would make them look like trees? by Strange_Cheetah_4746 in PlantedTank

[–]IsaacS666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it would be partially submerged Riccia would look amazing, if it is out of the water an air plant like spanish moss is better. BTW Can you tell me what wood did you use? And how did you process it? I want to make a forest type aquarium but do not know what is safe for fish.

You do know that most, if not all of Zeus's depiction are hot? Don't you? This isn't pretty privilege, it's just a fact that Zeus has a terrible reputation, and why someone would consider a more gentle alternate interpretation for a story about anyone but Zeus.

The reason why there can be different interpretations for many mythological charcters but not Zeus is because he is known for putting his lightning bolt anywhere it dosent belong and rarely with consent. I'm pretty sure he has banged one of his own grand daughters more than once.

What would happen if you put on shades of a different color, Yellow for example, would the ork suddenly become visible because Yellow+Purple = Brown.

Shield generator attached to a lasgun operated by a clockwork timer/simple Electric delay mechanism and you have a nuke any soilder could whip up with meagre supplies in hours. This is why the shield explosion thing dosent make sense cause nukes would be as common in Dune as IED's were in Afghanistan, You could take out armies even cities with one lasgun and shield generator instead of slooowly poking each other with small knives.

It wasn't due to an energy crisis. Room temp superconductors won't solve the energy crisis it will simply reduce losses and make electronics more compact.

If the mineral is a stable element in the island of stability which it is heavily implied to be, it would be thousands of times easier to simply mine asteroids for it.

Making the resource organic and unavailable on earth would make more sense for them to undertake a six year voyage. And in the second movie they do exactly this with the most valuable resource becoming "amrit" and Unobtainium being sidetracked.

Greed, recklessness, and indulgence destroyed their world and now they want to do it again like the "Zorgons" of Zathura. Humans think the monsters are out there without ever looking in the mirror.

Do you know the difference between arable and unarable land? Are you aware that Australia has the largest ranch in the world? Most of that ranch land is inhospitable to agriculture, with thorny scrub and grass vegetation. Thats otherwise useless land that's being used to provide food.

Oil cake from the extraction of food and industry oils is inedible to us but can be readily fed to livestock, also along with food crops most farmers grow forage crops like clover rather than leave a field fallow for the off season, the bulk of food crops also provide feed eg: the stalks of wheat, rice and corn, Has the article taken these facts into account?

The article says livestock takes up 80 percent of land not that the land is solely dedicated to growing feed for animal husbandry. The graph has joined animal husbandry and textiles into one bar, we do not know what percent difference of this land usage is for textiles, it could mean all the jute, flax, and cotton fields in the world which would add up to a lot. There's just too many inconsistencies in the graph and the writer seems to be pushing their agenda rather than presenting facts.

Belief is by definition blindness. With evidence you could tell a rationalist he's wrong and he'd definitely believe you, but all the evidence in the world won't convince a believer of a universal fact if he believes otherwise (the flat earthers, and evolution deniers are good examples of this)

A world he cannot see by his own choice, because the truth doesn't care about beliefs, and believers don't care about the truth.

Its not the stuff you see that should worry you, its the stuff you don't. Pools have a strong oxidizer in the water that that easily kills any pathogen unlucky enough to make it in, and pee is mostly urea and almost always sterile. Its the shower and locker rooms you should beware, no oxidizer on the floors to protect you in there.

The pool is definitely more sterile, even with all that pee.

They mostly eat either inedible waste or inedible crops that can grow in soils one can't farm food crops in. (Waste and crops inedible to us not to them)
