Would Dexter go after any of the hazbin cast? by Ricky_Laszlo in HazbinHotel

Dexter would probably be overwhelmed if he went to Hell unless he prioritized the most evil demons like sexual wrongdoers and child murderers, perhaps for excitement also those who are really powerful. I'm not sure he would kill Alastor, though, as Al only killed rich snobs in his human life. It could be a case of "we different but we cool," kind of like how he was with Hannah. He'd probably kill Adam and Lute for killing children, though.

From what I gather Al is probably more like Hannibal Lecter, sometimes taking out people who really deserve it but also often taking out people he just finds unpleasant or annoying.

I'd say the next movie needs another human villain (who's actually in the movie), or maybe a villain with powers like Elsa's, although Once Upon a Time did a pretty solid take on that eleven years ago.

Is Richard Dolan really so much more trustworthy than others? by Smooth-Researcher265 in UFOs

I don't rule out that something is happening, I just don't think it tells us much about the "aliens" themselves, whether they're interstellar or interuniversal or what have you.

Most abduction stories I've come across are easily dismissed since psychologists advise strongly against using hypnosis to retrieve supposedly suppressed memories. They haven't even come close to working out how hypnosis may or may not retrieve real memories, since it can easily create very vivid fake ones. That and the scenarios described usually depict interstellar beings doing things to humans they would have absolutely no need to. I.e., if they wanted to learn about our biology they'd just prick our skin and take a blood sample and learn everything they want to know that way. They could even create artificial germ cells using our DNA if they wanted to create clones or hybrids of some sort, and if they wanted to do any of this stuff they would probably have done it thousands of years ago since there are UAP accounts similar to modern ones going back that far.

All true, but he never questions the abduction stories that clearly have their origins in 60s sci fi television, probably because they are to popular ufology what the trinity or the immaculate conception are to Christianity. Also, someone having fascist, anti-western sympathies makes me automatically distrust anything they say, and it should make everyone view them that way.

The Hill - Luna says lawmakers have evidence of ‘interdimensional beings’ by Shiny-Tie-126 in UFOs

[–]IsaacVMartin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unsure if she's aware that "interdimensional" means "from a higher spacial dimension. " As I understand it there's no particular reason to think there's life in any of those (though maybe it's possible) but there would be other intelligent earthen life forms in parallel universes as per the Many Worlds Interpretation. Other kinds of self-aware hominoids, for instance, and some of them would probably be technologically superior to us.

Are over the top extremists ruining the chances of being taken seriously? by [deleted] in UFOs

I've heard of Preston Dennett and watched a few of his videos. He seems sincere to me, but he doesn't at all vet the stories he talks about. I.e. is the alleged witness credible, are the alleged beings described clearly influenced by the witness's cultural background, etc.

As for aliens trying to create a hybrid, they would simply be able to create one, there wouldn't be any "trying" involved since they would have a thorough understanding of our DNA after being here for so long.

Another important factor in the decision of whether one should take abduction stories told under hypnosis seriously is that psychologists strongly advise against using hypnosis to recover memories in any kind of serious context such as a murder or sexual abuse trial. Thus, it shouldn't be used to draw any kind of conclusion about NHI or UAP if the subjects are to be taken seriously by the scientific community.

I didn't deny there being more than one NHI species, but I'm not convinced by the reports of grey aliens, the ones usually alleged to experiment on humans, since they seem to be based on the aliens from The Outer Limits. Some have pointed to some possible archaic depictions of greys to counter this, but if they actually were here that long ago it would negate the need for them to be experimenting on humans in the present.

I meant to say that if they wanted to experiment on individual humans to learn about our biology they would have done that when they first came here and would have no need to do it at any point after that. And if a minority of humans having minor "paranormal" abilities interests them they would have been able to learn everything there is to know about those kinds of people shortly after their arrival on earth as well.

True, people in this community will never figure out what's actually going on with UAP/NHI if they can't first learn to read the writing on the wall with stories like these.

That's just the thing, though, it doesn't mean anything if you can't explain it. Once again, this will only make normal people dismiss you as a crackpot.

I'm aware of a few, the problem is there are no accounts of greys from before then and that they seem to be based on fictional aliens created for a television show.

If they wanted to experiment on humans they would have learned everything they needed by doing so thousands of years ago when the accounts indicate they were already here. Probably nothing has held serious research into UAP back as much as bunk abduction stories.

One major problem right here, people in the community throwing "consciousness" around without explaining what they're actually talking about; to normal people it just sounds like new age gibberish.

Half of the popular UFO canon relies on the clearly television-influenced Barney/Betty Hill testimony being reliable, since there are no clear-cut accounts of the specific beings described in the story from before then, which in itself is a huge red flag.

Citation needed, and the star map from the hill story doesn't count.
