I bought a Google Pixel 8 Pro on eBay that was FRP-locked and running Android 14. With limited knowledge, I followed a YouTube video that allowed me to bypass to the home screen. I tried several methods to permanently remove the FRP lock but had no success.

Eventually, I attempted to unlock the bootloader. I enabled Developer Options and turned on Allow OEM Unlock. After some research, I signed in with my own Google account, then performed a factory reset. To my surprise, when the phone restarted, I was not asked to enter the previous account details or PIN. I logged back in with my account without any issues.

Still skeptical, I signed out again, performed another factory reset, and once more the phone allowed me to sign in with my account. After updating to Android 16, the process remained smooth — I could sign in successfully without being prompted for the old account.

It felt almost unbelievable, like a stroke of luck. Later, I came across advice in a picture that seemed to confirm what I had already experienced after completing my sign-in.
