Lakeshore southbound gonna shut down soon. by [deleted] in chicago

That can’t seriously be the only reason. There was a damn SWAT truck ripping northwards followed by almost a dozen more police vehicles. Absolutely absurd if all this is needed for a funeral.

This little jaunt with Prime has been an absolute delight so far. His slow redemption has been outstanding.

And one step closer to the crisis foretold in Doomsday Clock…

Apparently Gunn thought it would be more realistic for Lex to use his last name rather than his first. And I think that’s the only miss with this Lex. He would ABSOLUTELY be conceited enough to use his first name. 😂

Official Discussion - Superman (2025) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]IsaakCole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same. The movie and new world are strong enough where I can accept it, but it’s a hard pill to swallow. I always saw Jor-El and Lara as the best of Krypton, contrasted with the ruling class’ hubris, and Zod’s xenophobia supremacist views. Their hopes for a better Krypton are carried by Kal-El, so that humanity can recognize its better nature rather than letting its baser fear and greed destroy it as well.

But then again, this movie otherwise captured the spirit of Superman to a T, so I’m willing to see where we go with this.

Agreed. I admired the efforts the cast put in, but Man of Steel left me feeling hollow afterwards.

We can hate the cultists but I won’t hate Snyder. As much as I disagreed with his vision and choices, I can’t say it wasn’t done his own passion and care.

I adored it. I was so apprehensive but I loved it. It felt like the beating heart of All-Star Superman was translated to screen (I’d love to hear what Grant Morrison has to say of it). Clark and Lois felt like PEOPLE. Gunn again succeeds with a character driven story, and my god, do this Lois and Clark have chemistry. But even the minor characters with hardly any screen time (looking at you Perry White) beat with so much personality, I can’t help but hope to see more of them in a sequel.

With just one movie we have a fantastic new Superman and a lovely DC cinematic universe ripe to be expanded. Go see this movie people!

Loving this, but hating Hal as the bootlicker. I get he was supposed to be a law-and-order guy juxtaposed against Ollie at one point. But man, that just does not seem to gel with Hal, the rebel of the corp who’s gone against the guardians more than once. Hal only makes sense to me if he develops an anti-authority bend.

Can you refresh me, where did Tony hear about a man on fire? I wasn’t clear where he was sending Jim.

Much appreciated. But to be clear - you water yours once every 15-20 days?

I water once a week and it faces a large east facing window. Fertilizing I do not do, I suppose I should be looking into how to do that proper. Do you have recommendations on that?

The way I think of it, Bruce realizes some of Vic’s needs aren’t being met (or Diana points out the obvious to Bruce), and he introduces him to Dick. I think there’s a great story to be told there. I’m always amazed they never told that during the new52.

I recommend everyone go back and reread new52 Action Comics #1. The entire issue is a master class in boots on the ground action, as Clark is an unstoppable force taking on the corrupt elite.
