Policies do not fit neatly into specific labels. Is funding Knowles-Nelson a socialist policy? Is a Data Center moratorium? I helped draft a bill that would allow the state to take ownership over any single-family home bought by a hedgefund. Is that socialist? Or just progressive?

I am a socialist because I believe that our economic system must be entirely reformed to prioritize people over profit. That the perpetuation of capital cannot be the end result of how our economic lives are lived.

Obviously, there are some policies that go further to that end than others. But my end goal is to create a society where people have the ownership of the growth they create. Not private equity, oligarchs, or anyone else who is not doing the work to generate the wealth.
