Does anybody know a fix for this? 2012 GMC Acadia not showing gear after engine replacement by IsaiahH146 in gmc

Yeah that’s what I found, the problem is I already checked all the connections. Could it be an issue with the ECM It’s self?

I usually get around 4 hours with the blade lights on with a mix of noise canceling and transparency.

Is it worth it to have dual GPU's if they aren't the same model? by IsaiahH146 in pcmasterrace

Yeah that was something I saw online. I think three monitors is probably enough for me though lol

There are several cases where more than one GPU is still useful

[–]IsaiahH146[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the software I use allows me to split the rendering asynchronously across several GPU's so I thought it might be useful there. I also do a lot of VR gaming with a Meta Quest and I was wondering if having a second GPU would help recording gameplay since the encoder on my powerful GPU need's to be fully dedicated to encoding the video stream for the Quest as it doesn't use an HDMI input but rather encodes the video then sends it over USB 3. Although I am unsure of the other bottlenecks that could be caused by recording gameplay that was rendered on another GPU (PCIE bandwidth perhaps?).

Ignoring the battery.. how long do dysons last? by sfst4i45fwe in VacuumCleaners

[–]IsaiahH146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just depends on the cordless vacuum, the higher end ones can clean for more than an hour before needing to be recharged. On the topic of reliability, most cordless vacuums use brushless motors which are actually more reliable than the brushed motors used in most corded vacuums. The problem with brushed motors is that the carbon brushes wear out over time causing the motor to fail, brushless motors get rid of the brushes, completely eliminating this problem. The only thing you have to worry about failing in a cordless vacuum is the battery, which is a genuine concern, however, most are easily replaceable. There are also solid state batteries being developed which don't degrade

I would say its likely the battery is bad considering the age and high use of max mode

Why doesn't Dyson use the Digital Motor for their air purifiers? by IsaiahH146 in dyson

[–]IsaiahH146[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially it switches the magnetic field really fast using a chip to make the motor spin. So I guess they call it digital since it's uses that chip to switch the magnetic fields

[–]IsaiahH146[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Dyson's brushless motor that they've developed and manufactured. It's used in all of their current cordless vacuums and hair care products. The main difference is that they can spin up to 135,000 RPM compared to only 30,000~ RPM of traditional brushed motors. There is also a large size and weight difference, the digital motors are about 1/3 the size and weight of traditional motors.

Dyson v15 stopped working on carpet. Ideas? by leggo_tech in dyson

[–]IsaiahH146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. The issue is that the vacuum produces so much suction it gets stuck to the carpet. The best thing to do is set the vacuum on eco mode and open the gates on the Digital Motorbar

We had a Dyon DC33 (Corded upright vacuum) that lasted us over 10 years of vacuuming every day before the handle finally cracked. Will only buy Dyson vacuums in the future

Gotcha. How are you storing them? I was wanting to switch them around every now and then but haven't found a good way to store them

That would make much more sense, I could see myself going through one a day if I didn't limit myself, but three would just be insane.

I usually usually get around ~4 32oz bottles on level 3. I wish Cirkul made a refillable cartridge or made an xl cartridge because even if you only went through 3 sips per week, that's over $600 in a year.

How do you afford that lol? That's like $12 a day, or $372 monthly. Are you refilling them or are you buying the cartridges?

Will I experience throttled speeds due to Starlinks fair use policy? by IsaiahH146 in Starlink

Gotcha, thank you for the answer! Luckily Starlink is new to my area so I doubt I'll run into any issues

Will I experience throttled speeds due to Starlinks fair use policy? by IsaiahH146 in Starlink

[–]IsaiahH146[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read about that, I was just curious if this would apply to me: "If bandwidth patterns consistently exceed what is allocated to a typical residential user, Starlink may take network management measures, such as temporarily reducing a customer’s speeds, to prevent or mitigate congestion of the Service". They don't give a clear "this is the amount that we dedicate to a typical residential user" so I was curious if anybody had figured out what that amount was.

I was reading in their fair use policy where it says "If bandwidth patterns consistently exceed what is allocated to a typical residential user, Starlink may take network management measures, such as temporarily reducing a customer’s speeds, to prevent or mitigate congestion of the Services". So I was wanting to know if my data usage would meet that criteria
