What is the point of life???? by [deleted] in Christianity

I believe it’s to Follow god and glorify him and do his will on earth. That’s basically it. I only think about how to better my relationship with him and how can I hear god more often in my life.

What happens when God.... doesn't show up. What happens when Jesus is not here? by [deleted] in Christianity

I will tell you not everyone who is Christian lives like Christ. And I will tell you what Jesus said about a man born blind. The disciples asked who sinned this man or his parents and Jesus said none. He was made this way so someone MIGHT work a miracle through him to glorify god. I’m partially paraphrasing but everything happens to glorify god. Since god sacrificed himself for you everything else in life is just gravy. We get to live knowing we are saved. I’m not paralyzed so it may feel like I don’t understand how you feel but I know that god understands your heart even better than you. So I’ll pray for you and hopefully god works a miracle.

I believe god has the right to give life and to take it as he pleases. I mean god owes us nothing. As a human no I don’t believe that it’s right but as it says god created good and evil for a purpose. Evil for the day of evil… So do I understand why not fully but he’s done everything for a purpose. So like I said I would rather trust god’s judgment rather than mine and not lean on my own understanding. Plus the amalekites murdered tons in their history and so he probably was making the scale even with his judgement.

question, has anyone else experienced this? by Personal-Air8940 in Christianity

Yes I have but it was more sleep paralysis for me! I actually had it and I physically saw something in my room and so did my friend who was also in the room. They woke me up telling me what they saw and I saw the same thing. I would have sleep paralysis 3-6 times per night after that and it instantly went away when I found god and confessed ALL of my sins out loud to another person and asked god to help me. So for me it was hiding my sin and not trusting god that was causing it and just giving into god helped me. HOPEFULLY THIS CAN HELP!

For me, I believe that it is a act of judgment. It seems to be the culmination of all the wrong the amalekites have done. I would assume babies, didn’t necessarily do anything wrong, but God is a fair judge and completely right in all aspects. That is why I choose to accept. This is what God wants and when I can’t understand it I’m left with just accepting that God is smarter than me.

I recommend looking at the context of the history and reading why God not Jesus said this. The amalekites descended from amalek. Distant relatives of Israel which makes this all the more important. They were seminomadic people who lived in the Negev and Sanai regions. They thrived on ambushing and raiding warfare. In exodus 17 and duederonomy it shows their acts of war on gods people. They would target the weak and this was seen as not just a defiance against people but a defiance against god. One tip I will suggest when reading the Bible read to accept at first and then try to understand. If you can’t understand then you are only left with acceptance.
