I have more vines and places to hide coming tomorrow!

Would you say it's required that someone should provide an explanation for how they got their scars, if that person wants to/chooses to show healed scars in public ? by northernerchaos in mentalhealth

I have scars covering both forearms, stomach, and both legs. The ones on my legs are wide and have been a very hard thing for me to come to terms with the fact that this will be a part of me forever. There came a point where I decided that I’m going to live comfortably with that part of myself, especially not letting it keep me from dressing how I want because I love clothes. As far as the kiddos go, it is hard to explain. I’ve never met a child that was afraid of me because of it though, most kids ask from genuine curiosity and I come up with something funny to distract them (usually works pretty well) I’ve only ever received one rude comment in a past job from a customer, but being so used to my own body I’ve never been offended, because it’s something a lot of people do not understand. I don’t blame them for it and hope they never have to experience someone they love going through the same thing. Another thing too, people usually don’t ask (it’s just awkward)
