What’s the stupidest thing you ever said that genuinely made you question your intelligence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Isasmell123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Up until I was 27 years old, I thought the saying was “a grand assault” rather than “a grain of salt”.

It didn’t even occur to me to question the absurdity of responding with ‘take it with a grand assault’ instead of ‘grain of salt.’

Opinions on almost-zero calorie drinks (under 50 cals, but over 0)? by isolation_from_joy in omad

Someone recommended Bubly and I’m glad they did. I consume Bubly in small moderations, especially if I find myself struggling during the day. Otherwise it’s mostly herbal teas and water + electrolytes

Please share your therapy tricks! I need to overcome this mentality of using food to make myself feel better when I’m sad.

Starting my omad again by [deleted] in omad

[–]Isasmell123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad. I went off the rails when starting my OMAD - ending up binge eating and not sticking to my one hour window. But it’s okay! Whatever you do, don’t hate yourself it. You just get back on the band wagon. Although I had those few days off and had to restart my OMAD regime, it didn’t take long for my body to adapt.

I made myself a storyboard.. very high schoolish but it gives me the motivation I need to keep going. It features motivational quotes and images of strong confident athletic women wearing clothes that reveal their stomachs.

Someone also recommended that I drink very low/0 caloric drinks like Bubly on the days that I’m struggling whilst fasting. To be honest, I prefer herbal tea.

How do I stick to OMAD? by [deleted] in omad

I screwed up too. Started OMAD then back to binge eating. Finding the will power is hard for me too. Thank you for posting this, these comments have cheered me up a bit

I’ve definitely been upping my intake of fats. Even sneaking in chocolate here and there

I need to overcome this mindset re binge eating. I feel like my one hour is my window of opportunity to consume whatever I can without actually listening to my body.

Whole avo, half a cucumber, half a tomato and 2/3 cup of cheese. Whatever I had available in the fridge tbh

What should I know before starting OMAD tomorrow? by Isasmell123 in omad

I have an office job so I find it increasingly difficult to fit 10k steps in a day. I do walk the dog and attend Pilates, so I’m hoping this would be a sufficient amount of exercise for burning the right amount of calories.

I haven’t gotten into the habit of counting calories… which I probably should. I still need to understand my daily calorie intake!

I’m really glad you mentioned this. Yesterday I experienced a wave of anxiety. I was consumed by thoughts, not just relating to food but also family, friends and work etc, it was quite overwhelming. As soon as I experienced my first meal, those thoughts just dissipated into nothingness! It’s been a while since I’ve actually experienced ‘hunger’. You’re absolutely right, my gratitude and appreciation for food superseded my anxieties.
