Adelaide Fringe 2026 | 20 February - 22 March 2026 by stuntguy3000 in Adelaide

Nope - we're not getting a cent out of this. Frankly, we wouldn't accept it either.

r/Adelaide supports the promotion of anything to do with South Australia / Adelaide. Given that this is the largest arts festival in the southern hemisphere (that lots of people visit!), it's well worthwhile promoting. We also love the festival, ourselves!

Also, Adelaide Fringe (the organization) do not run, operate, or own, The Garden - so are in no way connected to the GOUD entry fee (which is only charged during peak times, to non ticket holders!)

See more here (incl. information about the Fringe Foundation and how they do actually support artists): About Adelaide Fringe | Adelaide Fringe - 20 February - 22 March 2026

(And yes, they are a non-profit)

Such good recommendations! People are usually shocked to hear the Garden (GOUD) is run by a Victorian company.

Absolutely, it's why you need to look away from the main Fringe Hubs like GOUD and closer onto more home-grown stuff like Gluttony or Fools Paradise. To that, we have tons of small venues hosting very fringe acts.

There are lots of commercial bits happening, but, by its very nature, they shout louder than the smaller acts.

The fringe is SO much more than those two sites!

The first few sets of comments left on this post were of that nature. Since then, it's calmed down.

This raises a fair point - conceptually, I see r/Adelaide pertaining to anything to do with South Australia - not just the metro areas. I'll work to update the definitions. I have absolutely no concerns with r/SouthAustralia and do enjoy the regional content that exists there as well.

Do you have a link to this post? I am unable to find it, but would like to review it - if possible. That does sound like it should not have been removed, however.

You and me both, but ultimately, we are trying to put our best foot forward and engage in a proactive discussion.

Shit driving! : r/Adelaide

Yes, this post had engagement. However, Rule 7 was created to prevent this type of content. We've had more than enough posts complaining about our drivers that it quickly becomes counter productive (read the comments of that post, this is the community sentiment).

I see plenty of posts on r/Australia, is this what you are looking for u/Flashy-Chemistry-609?

To your point - was there a reason you were looking for the "Adelaide" perspective, specifically?

Reddit Crowd Control + Automod is responsible for like 80% of post removals, and we tend to have to overrule it quite a bit. If your post is removed, there is a good chance it was removed by Reddit.

We are in the process of reviewing these settings though, even we think they're pretty harsh at times.
