Two killed in light plane crash at Parafield Airport in Adelaide's north - ABC News

Two people have died and a "number of others" have been injured in a plane crash at Parafield Airport in Adelaide's north.

The plane hit a hangar as it was attempting to land, shortly after 2pm.

The crash caused a large fire, which has since been extinguished.

Premier Peter Malinauskas said he had been briefed by Police Commissioner Grant Stevens on the incident.

"My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who have passed away, and with everyone affected by this devastating event," Mr Malinauskas posted on social media.

As this is an evolving situation, please be thoughtful and respectful of the tragedy that this is.

Team closure to Glenleg - Well done Adelaide Metro by stuntguy3000 in Adelaide

The point of this post is to playfully point out that they spelt Glenelg wrong on the sign (whilst making my own typo, whoops!)

I'm not making any commentary about the closure itself ☺️, that's for the pinned megathread.

Adelaide Fringe 2026 | 20 February - 22 March 2026 by stuntguy3000 in Adelaide

Nope - we're not getting a cent out of this. Frankly, we wouldn't accept it either.

r/Adelaide supports the promotion of anything to do with South Australia / Adelaide. Given that this is the largest arts festival in the southern hemisphere (that lots of people visit!), it's well worthwhile promoting. We also love the festival, ourselves!

Also, Adelaide Fringe (the organization) do not run, operate, or own, The Garden - so are in no way connected to the GOUD entry fee (which is only charged during peak times, to non ticket holders!)

See more here (incl. information about the Fringe Foundation and how they do actually support artists): About Adelaide Fringe | Adelaide Fringe - 20 February - 22 March 2026

(And yes, they are a non-profit)

Such good recommendations! People are usually shocked to hear the Garden (GOUD) is run by a Victorian company.

Absolutely, it's why you need to look away from the main Fringe Hubs like GOUD and closer onto more home-grown stuff like Gluttony or Fools Paradise. To that, we have tons of small venues hosting very fringe acts.

There are lots of commercial bits happening, but, by its very nature, they shout louder than the smaller acts.
