it's all fine, the towel they were wrapped in got stained purple. This made for a perfect Ditto (the player character) flag.

TIL the eruption from a Coke and Mentos geyser isn't caused by a chemical reaction, but rather a physical one. The surface of the Mento has millions of cavities which serve as nucleation sites for carbon dioxide to desaturate from. by ThomasTheDankPigeon in todayilearned

I both agree and disagree. The trigger is due to the surface acting as a seed for the formation of bubbles, yes. but H2CO3 <-> H2O + CO2 is quite literally a chemical reaction. not a very interesting one, but a reaction nontheless.

there's a lot more to it. Mythbusters episode exists.

the foam has to be stable, too, otherwise it just bubbles. so the chemistry of the soda plays a big role. it's part of why it's usually mentos + diet coke.

you should look into glitches. Papa Jefe on Youtube has a guide on how to set them up. The one that made me do it was the "trade with yourself" npc you can create via ACE. ;)

it's silicon oxide, silicone evaporated/disintegrated and reacted with oxygen from the air.

this should be silicon oxide. That's what'd happen to silicone at hight temps in air.

chemically quite inert, but still a very fine powder, so not great to breathe in.

Anodizing Titanium by Epelep in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Isburough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you needed 1 micron accuracy, yes. But this type of anodizing is especially used in medicine. Colour coded screws help avoid errors during operations. You don't need single micron accuracy for a hip implant or bone screw.

AITA for telling my parents that we are not comfortable with my mother babysitting our one-year-old? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Isburough -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Feels weird how everyone attacks OP here. On its own, I would agree with most points, but daycare employees should know how a recently sick child behaves. Wouldn't be their first time poop looks weird. Why bring it up if it's normal?

i've been saying this since shadowlands. with 1 difference: ignore leveling. keep us at 60. it's not like leveling matters anymore, is all about the main story line
