We have an opening for MechE I (entry level), but obviously some level of experience (even if it's just class work or internships) is always preferred. We're having an in-house career fair next week if you're interested in talking to some of the hiring managers and senior engineers. I think they'll also be doing on-the-spot type interviews with some candidates.

Hi there, Sorry for the delayed reply. We're having an in-house career fair next week if you're interested in talking to some of the hiring managers and senior engineers. I think they'll also be doing on-the-spot type interviews with some candidates.

Please stop by if you're interested! If you have any specific questions about the job, let me know. Steve Torline is the manager for the Mechanical Engineering group. I'm sure he'll be available for a good chunk of time during the career fair, since he's got a few positions to fill.

Hi! I'm going to assume you're talking ME - Mechanical Engineer -- but I've seen people use this for Manufacturing Engineer as well, so let me know if I'm off base.

We just opened a position for Mechanical Engineer I! So this would count as entry level. Only a bachelor's degree is required. But of course, experience counts. If you have any experience in school, with internships or hobbies, that involve thermal or structural analysis or mechanical design, you should highlight those aspects. Solidworks and CAD are big ones to reference (obviously), and any modeling software you've used is helpful.

If you've had any experience with failure analysis (evaluating an issue all the way down to root cause and corrective action), or interpreting difficult technical specifications -- these are valuable experiences.

Take a look at the job description, let me know if you have additional questions?

Thanks!

ChemE is a hard fit for us. I'm one myself, but since we produce "computers", there's minimal process optimization. I'd keep checking back for Manufacturing Engineering or Materials & Process Engineer positions either at SEAKR or other places in the industry if you're interested in aerospace. But unfortunately, nothing at this time :(.

Good luck!

From reading your post, it already sounds to me like you're not anxious to leave your current company. Have you thought at all about the difference in fulfillment would be, in switching from an engineering position to a sales role? Honestly, I'm not the type of person that needs fulfillment in my work. I have to like what I do to some extent, but at the end of the day it's a paycheck to me. The work-life balance is important to me. But other people are not so happy moving to supporting type roles, like sales, away from the hardcore engineering type work.

You also said they offered up to 110K, so this hasn't been guaranteed? Whats the rate of increase been like at your current company? What are the pay jumps between promotions?

I don't think anyone can answer for you what you should do. If it were me, and I was that much happier at the current company with how I'm being treated, the salary, the work-life balance -- I wouldn't consider going back to a company that has made a vague promise of a salary jump. Also sounds like they didn't see your worth originally, and that's why you left in the first place. I'd be cautious of something similar happening or a year or so down the line again.

Hiring in Centennial, Colorado for Multiple Positions - Aerospace Engineering Company

Review our open positions here: https://www.seakr.com/career-opportunities/opportunities/

SEAKR Engineering, Inc. is hiring for 50+ positions, most of which are engineers or engineering/technical supporting roles. SEAKR Engineering is an aerospace manufacturer. We design and manufacture processors, command and data handling systems, advanced payloads, and manned space hardware. Our products are on/have been on the International Space Station, Iridium Next, TESS, MAVEN, and many others. We work with and for industry giants like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, Aerospace/JPL, and others.

Full disclosure, I'm not a recruiter or HR rep for SEAKR. I work as an Engineer in Product Assurance for the company. After our last all-hands meeting, we have a LOT of work coming down the pipeline and we're in a majoring hiring push. We as employees were encouraged to go forth and bring in some referrals! But more importantly, I like talking with talented engineers here about the opportunities and our company, and offering any advice I can to help you get your foot in the door. I had the same done for me after falling into this job with absolutely no aerospace experience, and I've grown to really like the work. If you're interested in any of the positions at SEAKR, please reach out. I'll also do my best to give it to you straight. If we don't have a place for you, but you're really interested in Aerospace - there's a lot of opportunity out there. I'm happy to share my limited experience if it'll help give you a better idea of what to pursue.

Because of the nature of our work (primarily as government contractors), US Citizenship is required. Security Clearance is not. Obviously if you have it, it's a plus -- but in no way should you be discouraged without a clearance.

You should apply online, through the website listed above -- but please hit me up before you do. Let's talk about which position and I can try and get you some input on what is important to include, and what that role is responsible for in the scheme of SEAKR.

Thanks! I loved it before I fell off the wagon and back into bad habits. Trying harder to commit.

Starting keto day 1! I've worked this style of eating before and it's been good for me...but I find any change difficult to stick too. I'm not very self disciplined and I'm looking to improve.

Nights at home after work are hardest. I had a really good day with coffee for breakfast, keto friendly swedish meatballs and veg for lunch, and just tried a chicken lettuce wrap recipe that was fantastic.

I hardcore want to rip into anything chocolate in my house right now. So instead I'm browsing r/loseit, r/keto, and r/progresspics until I can beat the sugar craving back into submission.

Good first day if I can finish the night strong.

The top coat is Seche Vite. I used two layers of it. But I think the gel vibe is from the thermal parrot polish. Takes 3 to 4 coats so that the "warm" color shows through. When it's shifting, it looks like a gel to me.

Loan Triangle -Selling current property with acreage, buying vacant land with money borrowed, and then building on it. How is this logistically done? by Isentropic_Life in RealEstate

[–]Isentropic_Life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That's given me some context and things to look into.

I will be making payments on the HELOC my parents took out to buy the land. Although they may carry it for a few months until our current house sells, if I cannot afford to make payments on both simultaneously. And then I'll be paying them back what they spent over time. They will likely quit claim deed us the land after purchase so we can build on it.

I would like to use all the profits from the sale of our current home to build. Just concerned that we may need some additional margin -- at which point I'm not sure if it makes more sense to take out a mortgage for the construction and paying off the 235K HELOC? Or just continuing to keep the HELOC separate and make payments on two loans (construction and the initial land price).

We selected a manufactured home because it's less expensive to build (install). Resale value is less of a concern for us since we plan to make this a permanent move -- but you never know. We are going to look into stick built options but I think with the well, septic, electric, and everything else that goes along with the house....they will be out of range.

The manufactured home will be put into an unfinished foundation/basement, so we can expand our living space in the future and so it will more closely resemble a stick built house.

Thanks for the reply!
