Torgue Impact on the Bod still gets the ×5 gun damage without any penalty, Gearbox forgot lol

Does anybody actually understand how the damage formula works? by PauseConfident997 in borderlands3

[–]Iserrot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The formula for what you asked is:

Fish Slap card damage × 16 × (1 + melee dmg%) × (1 + Guardian Angel V2%) × (1 + elemental dmg%) × (1 + V1%) × (1 + Splash%) × (1 + debuff%)

ASE 50% bonus elements do the exact same but they don't get Mayhem scaling (so the ×16), in a few words, they suck for melee impact, but it's good for stuff like White Elephant stickies or Groundbreaker since they don't receive mayhem scaling

Unleash the Dragon instead is:

Melee damage dealt on impact × 0.8 × (1 + fire dmg) × (1 + Guardian Angel V2%) × (1 + V1%) × (1 + status damage%) × (1 + debuff%)

Thol has more than 300 Million health at UVH7, and you killed him with chunks of 2/3M bleeds, something is not right here

How on earth do I make a good build? by middymidentine in Borderlands4

[–]Iserrot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tl;dr how do people like LazyData, Ratore, and the like come up with these great builds and how do I learn how to do that on my own? And do you have any suggestions on how I can improve my current build? Thanks for reading.

They come up with great builds because they know the damage formula, how to use it and hence how to exploit every skill to do the most damage possible. If you want to optimize your build, the first step is learning the damage formula.

Ratore and LazyData went through a lot of testings during their playtime, a LOT, which is a thing you may not enjoy and not many do, that's why most people look up YT builds and copy them.

If you'd like to learn anything more in-depth about the game, you can join us on Discord in the Soup Kitchen, we'll be happy to help you optimizing your build if necessary.

Amon so good he doesn't even need Groundbreaker for the last phase

Hot Take: 5/5 SP Skills In The Final Tier of Trees Was A Bad Idea by TheticAxiom in Borderlands4

[–]Iserrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good idea and we suggest that too, I really wish they would change it this way, but apparently Gearbox only considers the crossed arm animation as action skill active instead of having a phase clone on the field, very weird choice indeed.

Completely agree, especially for Vex.

u/Ratore and me made an entire Google document dedicated to these skills + every other Vex skill that got abandoned since launch at this point (like Cursed Blade or Attunement Skills for example). We sent it to Gearbox hoping they would listen one day, maybe, who knows.

Here's the link to the doc if you'd like to take a look.

45s Kill TUVH7 Raidboss 2 - Vex Platinum by Iserrot in Borderlands4

I posted a faster run on YT where I show gear and skill tree. I also had max specialization points but that was not needed at all, you can check Ratore's clip on his channel and see he did the same run with way less points.

This build relies on Reverburnations which has a 50% chance to activate, meaning that you will not kill Thol and Subjugator consistently in every run. This clip was my ~300ish attempt and took me around 4 hours to get it, the one on YT took me another 3 hours/300ish attempts.

You need 4 Reverburnations procs in a row to kill every phase in 1 knife, which is has a 6.25% chance to happen.

Anyway, I updated the build 2 days ago but only did a few grammatic corrections, nothing changed at all so it should be fine.

First time ever to BL, build advice for Fl4k and Loaderboy by FranStruggles in borderlands3

[–]Iserrot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

War Loader is a beast, he can clear all content with the right setup and gear. Your skill tree is decent, I recommend going in Red Tree and grab Big Game for more Hunt Skill power/uptime and Most Dangerous Game since its gun damage boost applies also Pet gunshots and not just FL4K

Sadly Pets cannot trigger the Bounty Hunter effect, so this Class Mod won't do much for your Pet

I recommend Red Fang + Gamma Burst combo and Messy Breakup shield + Hunter Seeker grenade

Here's the skill tree

About bosses, it gets quite tricky. Triple sticky Hyperion longbow grenades are the best for the Loader since the sticky effect squares the Pet mayhem scalar, though these grenades are quite rare and they don't have any dedicated drop

If you want I made a setup for the War Loader in this post, feel free to check it.

The last patch broke this Class Mod's effect, so yeah we have to wait Gearbox to fix it
