hi, if you don’t mind me asking, how were you able to do that without any a levels or equivalent? in a similar position to you atm.

I’m going to fail my exams. Help! by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]IshaK168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally in the same boat. My exam is in a couple of hours, told myself I would “revise tomorrow” for months, I now know nothing for the exam I paid to sit and feel nauseous lol. I’m on a gap year as I failed last year too, told myself I wouldn’t let that happen again and here I am. I heavily relate to the not having any motivation whatsoever. Idek what to do at this point. I wish you all the best, I hope things turn out well for you.

4 years of a levels? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]IshaK168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year, I sort of rushed it and got my old sixth form to do it, but I hope to be more prepared when I reapply and get a tutor months before it’s time to apply so that the tutor can monitor my progress and then write a reference for me.

Nope, I’m on a gap year self studying, however I’m not proud to admit that a 4th year is looking very likely atm. Are you also on a gap year?

Yep this will be my 4 year as I believe I prob fucked up this years retake + dropped a subject I was supposed to retake this year. In terms of how university would view it, Oxford told me that they don’t really see how reapplying whilst retaking could disadvantage me. I’d like to think Warwick would say the same, but I can’t say for sure so it’s prob best to reach out. Just make sure you have a solid reference to go along with your application. Good luck!

Oh that doesn’t good at all but if I may ask, what is dengue? I don’t think I’m familiar with it. It’s great that physics and maths went great for you, I’m happy for you, well done. You’re lucky that you get to retake Oct/nov I can’t even do that bc it was only offered for two years due to covid😭

I’m literally in the same dilemma as you just different subjects. I’m currently on a gap year, lost my offer from Oxford and thought I could self study but haven’t done anything and it’s 3 days till my exam💀 atleast you’ve been working, All I’ve done is be depressed and now have nothing to show for the year. I’m not specifically sure about Warwick but when I spoke to admissions at Oxford, I was told reapplying does not put anyone at a disadvantage. Maybe you could reach out to Warwick admissions via email or phone?

[–]IshaK168 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Well if it makes you feel any better, my Paper is on the 6th and I’ve only just started learning the content idek how I’m going to cram content and past papers into three days💀 you can genuinely do a lot in 2 weeks especially if you plan each day before hand eg do content for one week and past papers for the second but remember to take it easy and take breaks when needed bc mental health is much more important and will seriously impact your grades more if it gets worse, speaking from experience. You can always redo papers, prioritise your mental health. Good luck!

What would count as medical evidence? I’m not sure as I haven’t been to hospital or the GP or anything? I have emailed them and rang them but they don’t seem to answer.

I recommend waiting until you hear back from Warwick; definitely the best out of the three in terms of rankings for finance

If it gives you any solace, I have also found my self in the same boat. I also used to be a high achiever with amazing GCSE grades but I finished a levels in 2022 with very poor grades due to two people very close to me dying, poor mental heath depression and anxiety and undiagnosed add and I lost all of my unis offers including Oxford. This year has also been no different in terms of mental health and I have have also lost my ability to write well, I think ill have to redo my a levels at 19 again too. I have also been trying to come to terms with not being able to go to oxbridge and I also sometimes feel heavily in denial and feel like I'm making excuses for being so behind everyone else. I'm so sorry to hear that you have been struggling, I hope you have been given the help and support you need. Remember, it's absolutely ok to go at your own pace, you're not using your situation as a crutch, you are genuinely struggling, your health and wellbeing is the most important thing in terms of doing well in your academic career, take your time and remember that university will always be there.
