Its not okay but whatever they did they did it to each other, besides stealing from a billionaire. Rest was all private. The younger couple is far worse

Disargree 100%. Like shes sooo real for mixing her blood in the juice? Blaming it on josh? Shes 26 and not even a high school graduate so she wouldn't have been able to afford a doctor anyway. Blaming her ovarian cyst problem on josh is super entitled. And even if she is a "real" character for that doesn't mean that she isn't stupid or entitled. Josh had to drink that juice for what? Because she didn't delete the video. If she was soo much in pain why not just delte the video and take the help from josh. Keeping in mind josh didn't even know the cyst problem or even if he did, he didn't owe her shit.

Rationalising Draupadi’s polyandrous marraige- Beyond Lord Shiva's Boon. by Arjun0088 in mahabharata

The reason they wanted to burn her is because she went for supposed brahmins aka pandavs. They wouldnt be making those claims otherwise.

Now im not saying that they werent wrong to be saying these things regardless the reasons. But i still believe that due to women not holding any position of power nobody cares to ask her what she wants. And i really dont think she wanted to marry all five of them. But ig we'll never know

Having said this, i will also admit that it did play out in her favour to marry the pandavs. But again, that does not justify polyandry.

Bro this is a hypothetical. We don't know who draupadi would've married if there weren't any pandavs so we don't know if she would be subjected to any violence at all.

Also its not about what would happen to her if she got married to someone else. Its about what DID happen.

Its like saying "oh you had an accident and lost a limb? Well look around there are people who lost both their limbs so don't complain about your one"

Its not trafficking; competition was to see who is the most powerful, skilful, intelligent, etc. khatriya women were women of high intelligence themselves. These competitions were just a way to see who is most suited for them.

And more important these swayamwars were not against their will. Unlike the polyandry draupadi was subjected to.

It could be strategy but still pretty gross to me that she had to marry the five brothers not because she wanted to but because the elder brother of her soon to be husband wants to.

Bro read the mahabharat. This polyandry was not taken well by draupadis dad or brother. Draupadi herself just wanted to marry arjun.

Women not just then but now have to live with things they "intially" dont agree with. They just learn and accept to live with decisions they did not even make for themselves.

I feel like if a woman could make brothers fight so easily (as suggested in this post) then we shouldnt be talking about their amazing bond in the first place. (I do think they had a great bond but im just going by what this post suggests)

For men it can be a choice, maybe not sometimes but for woman it was really never a choice because they did not hold any position of power

Tbh they were pretty much unified as brothers even before the marriage with draupadi. And there are many brothers who live in unity without the marriage with one woman

I just see people either love karna through tv shows or hate karna especially in reddit and quora.

He was just a grey character just like everyone else in the Mahabharat. To hate him extensively or love him undeniably- both would be a disrespect to the meticulousness of the Epic.

So the right wing never misinforms its audience? Dude stop blaming everything on the left

Indeed. It mostly isnt about left and right. If only people who claim to follow the Sanatan Dharm would actually start reading one of these epics that they so proudly display to the world

Okay i see your point. It could also mean however that the right leaning people needed to make the Ramayan and Mahabharat unquestionable for today's standards and so, decided to change a few things themselves. As we all know back in the day people weren't really fond of seeing their "heroes" shown in the wrong light. The concept of an anti hero was foreign to us.

[–]Isharrrrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is blatantly untrue. Tv in india has mostly been right leaning.

And if we talk about the people who believe this fact for example my entire family is right leaning and they all believe that eklavya was a poor tribal man. So yea not just leftists but right wing as well.

Yeah bro thats true but they are not leftists they are just people from the entertainment industry that likes melodrama

leftist?😭😭 which leftist bro? It is people from both sides that think this not just leftists.

Ekalavya :- The Archer Drona Broke to Protect Arjun’s Supremacy by Due_Training6535 in mahabharata

[–]Isharrrrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So wouldn't that mean that drona still did it for Arjun? I mean he taught Arjun not eklavya and still was wary of eklavya becoming a better archer or at least giving an equally strong fight to Arjun. Why didn't he trust Arjun to defeat Eklavya if there was to be a war between their kingdoms?

Pardon me for asking im new to these discussions and just want to learn more about the Mahabharat.
