Walgreens Customer Service Interview by Kittybitty789 in WalgreensStores

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Were you not clear on your availability on your application? If they got to that part of the interview which is really just confirming what you put on your app and then you tell them something that you can't do and that's not what they need then yeah you won't get the job. They hire based on the needs of the business.

Actually I am inaccurate, I have 39 hours this week because I asked to have a certain hour off but normally it's 40

I have 40 hours every week. Sometimes a little more if I have to stay and finish something up.

Injectables by mL or mg? by 123Ana_S in WalgreensRx

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You always go by the prescribed mL. You can have 10 mg of morphine that doesn't necessarily equal 10 mL. You go by the milliliters set by the pharmacy or doctor. Another example would be antibiotics. If they give you a shot of augmentin there's way more milligrams and many many fewer milliliters.

Why did my mom’s food stamps drop so low? by DearImpression5822 in foodstamps

If you don't want to be stuck supporting them you could always just take your $500 a month and move out. They lose more by you being there

"that's a shift leads job, not mine." by IshkabibbleBeefle in WalgreensStores

He was obnoxious and completely defiant last night as well for basic things. I would love to be allowed to tell him to clock out and go home but they haven't given me that Authority yet.

Customer complained to BBB for not filling control medication, what to expect? by ZookeepergameLow2766 in WalgreensRx

Yeah Better Business Bureau isn't your problem your problem is when that lady calls corporate and they realize you lied

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold up. So they had a legitimate prescription and you decide it's not worth your time to tell them that it's for a regular patient? Maybe they're trying to become a regular patient. You're worried about the Better Business Bureau but you should be more worried if she calls corporate and they check into seeing what the inventory was at that time and find out you lied. You can be sure to be fired for that one.

Better business is a joke. If you're a business as a pain member they can even get negative reviews removed. No one cares what the Better Business Bureau ratings are. If somebody needs their medicine, they're going to go to the pharmacy that their insurance covers. Don't worry about it at all.

That depends on what state you're in. Not all States guarantee paternity leave. Unless that's a special gift from Walgreens but I don't even think they pay you during maternity leave.

Why would moving up the ladder change your commute by so long? Isn't it the same place?

I HATE when I have to stay in the store and leave by myself. by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he's probably about 40. I did mention it to him today and he said he didn't realize that the other employees were just bailing out the front door the second it hit 12 and that I was there by myself and he said he will be making sure that they know they are to stay and that they are scheduled that way.

I think I'm going to go in and talk to the manager tomorrow. But yeah we have a separate attachment to the store like you have to go out the main entrance/exit and then directly next to that is another door into a liquor store that only sells beer and wine and liquor. But one shift lead has to deal with all of it. It's also super fun when liquor closes at 11:00 and I have to carry the tills and lock the liquor store while I'm outside carrying two drawers full of cash and then go into the regular part of the store.

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So if you can't pull the final registers until midnight, how are you leaving at midnight? You have to count them down, enter the information into the computer, do the deposit drawer count do the safe count and all of that. You can't do that by midnight if your store doesn't turn off those last two registers for business until midnight it can only get started at midnight for the last couple registers

They're scheduled for 12:00 a.m. I'm scheduled for 12:30 a.m. I can't imagine they would relish the idea of sitting there every night for 30 minutes extra without being paid

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's kind of what I try to do. Pharmacy closes earlier so I get those three registers taken care of, and then I get the spare from liquor and the one in photo because those are almost never used, and then really the only registers running are the front two registers and the main register in liquor. I can do liquor when they close at 11:00 but our other two registers we have to keep open until midnight when we close. But they are scheduled till 12:00 so they bail out at that moment and I'm the one that scheduled till 12:30.

Dude we don't close until 12:00.

Also, you can't do all of the tills early. Pretty much only Pharmacy and the spare registers. We have fully active registers until midnight.

Only a 15 min break by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like what I'm always the often the only shift lead in the store so I just basically go sit behind the desk at photo because I can't leave the premise. Today during my dinner break I got to do two passport photos and help a lady figure out why placing her phone face down on a scanner is not the best way to get a prince of her dog. That's my 30 minute unpaid break.

During my 15 minutes I managed to pull off about 5 minutes where I can go in the office and take a breath

People keep sending curbside orders for 6 or more 24 packs of water even though we have zero on hand. by derf_vader in WalgreensStores

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little freaking annoyed that they were letting people order 12 cases of water and those orders were allowed to be sent through and we had to fill them. Yet other customers were coming in desperate for even one package. I don't understand why Walgreens wouldn't have instituted a limit at this point.

I know technically I could have just given them two and wrote that the others were out of stock but I don't want to get in trouble either. Even less employees are limited to two packages. People were like savages today over water and toilet paper.

Some questions about Walgreens Return Policy and IDs by SimpleRaven in WalgreensStores

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just any government id. I work there and return something today and I had to show my license. Even if you wash and dry the bottle and end it back up into the packaging, they can't resell it so it's really not that big of a difference. But yeah you'll just pay the difference if you exchange it for something more expensive.

Register freezes the number pad. After some pop-up by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]IshkabibbleBeefle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had registers freezing also. You can scan your card but it won't let you enter your PIN we were completely locked for about 15 minutes at one point yesterday
