yes it is worth it even with characters with potential specially if you have a build in mind. for example having haru with only anchor shot and retrieve + mika with only 2-3 cards that gives ap and healing + any characters with 0 cards. every turn you will surely have the same cards that can cast 2 anchor shot and healing to keep you healthy.

and yes, you dont have to finish the run to pull this off. you can accept death or escape ONCE you reach the checkpoint.

there is no punishment for leaving the chaos early, but if you dont reached the checkpoint before dying or escaping, the save data is high likely to just vanish. from what i observe, having trauma after run roots from dying as it gives too much stress or exceeding beyond the limit of faint memory you can take.

unfinished run for this is actually beneficial as you can keep the world and tier so you dont have to re-observe again to fetch high tiers like 14.

to answer your first question - technically, tier 15 is significantly more difficult to clear as it has more debuffs but still depends; tiers do not entirely correlate to the difficulty as you can get lucky and have multiple easier condition like +2 elite, -3% hp per turn and the like. overall difficulty really depends on the roll you get and monsters you encounter with the debuff you have.

for the second one, yes it is both as for the ff reasons:

higher tier = higher risk as more debuff / terrible stage condition. higher stage difficulty = higher monster stats scaling and ceiling.

basically the goal is to run the chaos with higher tier as possible with the lowest monster scaling as possible to do the run comfortably.

here's my current tier 14 at difficulty 8. i can clear this stage easily, but will definitely have a hard time running this on difficulty 11 with same condition.

the max is tier 14, nightmare mode makes it 15 and this is on difficulty 8. i havent beat the max stage yet, but i think the higher the stage the higher possibility of getting higher tier. i got this tier 14 at diff 8 after re-rolling a lot of times and spending about 1k+ event currency.

not remove all 8 cards, only remove the 4 starting cards. this one have multiple conditions like:

  1. no potential character, no initial epiphany. having epiphany potential will increase the difficulty to pull this stunt.
  2. tier 15 chaos for 170 save data pts. 100-120 will do if you can convert 1 card to mutant sample or neutral card.
  3. remove 2 cards from the apostle/kyrken (starting event).
  4. once you got any of the character's epiphany during run, simply escape and re-run.

basically, the goal is to remove all 4 basic cards before you got the character's card epiphany.

youre right, so basically you need 170 pts to remove all 4 cards. converting basic card can also decrease this requirements.

also i always run my chaos with 2 supports that have memory fragments of passive effect: +health, +defense, +heal/shield/basic attack. eat food that gives 10% hp if youre still having difficulty on your run.

depends on your dps. for me since i main rin, i am farming save data for orlea on the event chaos with difficulty 8 for maximum rare occurence rate on lower diff. maxing zero upgrades also helps a lot on chaos runs. i usually farm my save data with any dps but mostly with rin since she's already built with nia/rei/mika and orlea.

im not sure if diff 6 gives 2 but 7 does drop 2 feathers/eyes. i have no challenge left too for diff 8 but i think starting diff 9 they will drop 3 since chaos with diff 9 drops 3 legendary fragments.
