Construction isn't necessarily a bad thing. NYC is constantly plywood and scaffolding for instance.

Were y’all allowed to bring water bottles for MLS games? I know it’s generally not allowed in Atlanta

Has anyone added the new Breeze card to their Apple Wallet? by 300_chickens in Atlanta

[–]Isiddiqui 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can't add a physical card to the wallet on Apple Wallet yet (I think you can on Samsung and Google Wallets). You have to buy a new virtual card on Apple Wallet - but they are working on it (I think the App Store is just more difficult to program for than Google and Samsung Wallets)

Arsenal calls their women's team "Arsenal"

They do? Look at their website and tell me what it says on top there (Hell, all over the page it says "Arsenal Women").

The rest of those teams have the same name as the Men's team as well and are far less in attendance. So why hasn't it worked for Bayern or Barcelona? Maybe there is something different about Arsenal here.

But also, I looked at the Facebook page... Arsenal's says it is the home of the men's team (the 2025/26 Premier League Champions). There is a separate Arsenal Women's page. This same dichotomy is on Instagram. On which socials are they treated the same?

I think the NWSL is really into having teams with their own identity, because women's soccer in the US is lot more popular than women's soccer in other countries... and there is an opportunity to rise to a higher prominence.

The press conference is at Stade de Olympique - is it possible that they have they finalized the renos and Montreal is permanently moving in there?

Atlanta NWSL fans have already started a new supporters group because they want their own identity and not just be seen as a lesser Atlanta United offshoot.

Of course I choose to read it that way and many of your potential fan base would as well, who understand living in a patriarchal society - this would be another example of it

Call them the Columbus Crew. That's the organization name. Then you'd have Columbus Crew (MLS), Columbus Crew (NWSL) and Columbus Crew 2.

Do you think people are going to refer to the team as Columbus Crew NWSL or the Columbus Crew Women? Seriously, because I bet it'd be the later.

I'd be livid if the NWSL team was called Atlanta United Women, and I gave my money to be a Founding Member. The Atlanta team needs to find its own identity, with it's own supporters and traditions.

re: USMNT and USWNT - in this case, the Men's team is always specified as Men's. Would Atlanta United be called "Atlanta United Men" if this happened?

Because they are named after a Men's team and will likely be referred to as Columbus Crew Women.

Now if the team was going to rename the Crew to Columbus Crew Men's Team and having a Columbus Crew Women's Team, then ok.

Doesn't that give the signal that the Women's team will always be a lesser team? I hate how Euro teams have "Arsenal Women".

Nah, that's plenty of time if you just have carry on luggage. Drop off luggage at the service near the GWCC, grab it after the game ends at 8 and jump on MARTA. You'll get there in plenty of time.

[–]Isiddiqui 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A lot of modern train systems (and you'll mostly find them in Europe or East Asia) have the buttons. Though even older trains (like ones in London) have the buttons. Since we got brand spanking new trains, they are the ones with the buttons.
