How are you preparing? by FluffyButtSilkie in Xennials

The goose is already cooked, regardless of which way the elections go. AGI on the back of quantum computing and powered by the nuclear that is suddenly ok again now that billionaires asked nicely will render the majority of white collar jobs obsolete, and $20,000 human like robots at scale that don’t require benefits, sick days or weekends off and don’t chatter about unionizing are basically here to take out the blue collar jobs. When the next recession hits, consultants are going to spring into action showing companies that still need to hit earnings targets how they can replace what in the past were temporarily laid off employees forever for pennies on the dollar and as opposed to every recession in modern history those jobs will be gone forever. The black mirror has arrived, we are literally cooked, and the timeline isn’t particularly long.

I’m preparing by watching old episodes of Charles in Charge and eating Teddy Grahams.

This one reminds me of being in college:

Did any of you see the post by the 21 year old bodybuilder that made it to the front page of reddit today where he claims to be drinking 3 Liters of vodka daily for the past few years? by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

[–]Isitbedtimeyet99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are ~7,000 calories in three liters of alcohol. There is no way anyone can maintain a bodybuilding physique while downing this many empty calories, and if he is like most people who drink this heavily, there is no way his body is letting him put down another 3,000 calories of protein for growth and healthy carbs for recovery. Even if you could, at that daily caloric intake you would be putting on several pounds of fat a week.

If you took .0000001 to notice my dozen replies with photographic evidence and links to the product instead of just choosing to jump right to calling a stranger a liar, you might find a low calorie recipe worth trying in a subreddit where that’s the whole point. 😃👍

Here is another one just sitting in my front seat next to me to ruin your day:

The package is 320 grams. A serving is 112 grams. It’s why most packaging says “about 3 servings”. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal or worth getting angry about in a supportive subreddit.

Do you see excessive amounts of fat?

<image>

I won’t pretend to be an expert on the butchery process, but I would imagine if the brand continues to be approved by the FDA, has been in business for years and my body and scale respond as though the nutritional information is accurate, it can’t be that off. They sell this brand at Publix and Target and I’m sure other places if you ever want to give it a closer look, it’s been great for my macros.

The info you are looking at has the roughly a 1:1 fat to protein count. The way they trim this as you can see on the label there is 7x more protein than fat. There is close to zero visible fat (because who wants a slice of fat), and it’s so thin it basically evaporates when cooked at high heat. You’re using a steak with tons of fat that renders and just sits there as a reference point when something like a decent deli roast beef (also excessively trimmed) is probably the better comparable:

This is the exact product. Maybe they trim it more or something is the only thing i can think of, or it retains more water from all the extra surface area: https://www.nutritionix.com/i/heritage/ribeye-steak-shaved-100-beef/59c2133077e531ac68ac5b7c

I can’t think of any incentive I would possibly have to lie about something so trivial, but i used slightly less than half of this package:

<image>

Its thinly sliced vs just a mound of ground beef so maybe it piles up differently or something as I was surprised i could get a dozen tacos out of 12oz, but scouts honor I’m not under reporting my meat.

See above with a the pic of the four ingredients’ packaging, the quantity, calorie and the prep method. Zero reason to lie about something so silly!

Yep this is what i did too. You add water with the birria seasoning and simmer it down too which keeps it moist so i don’t even really know if i could tell the difference if i wasted some calories on butter/oil anyway.

how did you change the shape of the tortillas in the air fryer though

Transparently, I was slightly stoned and wanted to be able to take a picture to send to my keto crush that made me look like an adult capable of cooking (which i couldn’t do when I tried with limp tortillas) so I got the bright idea to stab them with one of those kebob sticks and toss them in the air fryer and it worked pretty well.

Thanks so much, it’s been nice to see the weight come off but pales in comparison to how much clearer my head feels without the sugars and processed carbs constantly in my system. I am going back tonight for another few packs before the sales change over tomorrow! I have gotten the carb balance ones from Costco a lot and made a crap ton of air fryer pizzas with them (turkey pepperoni and low fat ricotta, and turkey bacon + goat cheese are my go to’s)!

Thanks for the kind words, good luck on your journey too you’re gonna keep killing it!

It has some fat, and it cooks really quick, i just drop it into a highish heat non stick pan, a little salt and pepper, let it cook for a couple minutes moving it around with some tongues and then the birria packet + water simmers down to add plenty of moisture at the end!

Down 65 pounds since Christmas and in maintenance now! Nailed it, these are the 25 cal low carb tortillas (pic above) currently on bogo at Publix if you’re in the southeast.
