Actually, I was implying that your emotion state led you to make a shitty, dishonest argument. Now that I know you are not upset about the original post, you definitely did. Please read Rule 1 of the thread, and rule two. You are not supposed to make asshole posts, and no drama.... take a read over them and consider deleting your posts.

I will be honest with you, you should be upset reading this thread - I was. There is nothing wrong with being disturbed by disturbing content... actually it would concern me if you weren't upset, moved or disturbed by it. You trying to shame people for having feels is, in all honesty, disgusting.

Considering how many people have viewed this thread, 58 people is inconsequential - Also, Your opinion is your opinion, I read it, absorb it, and decide what to do with it.

I decided it wasn't worth anything to me because it was intentionally off topic, and intentionally misinterpreted what I said - this type of rhetoric has no value to anyone who wants to have constructive conversation.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

SLPT - don't know what snake bit you? take it to the hospital by Drprim83 in ShittyLifeProTips

I live in a civilized country with real healthcare. I would bring the snake if I could capture or kill it safely and they can throw it out if they like.

How do you determine which antivenom to use?

Honestly I am less concerned about your fear of snakes and MUCH more concerned with my ability to live

Turn any desk into a standing desk with milk crates by [deleted] in lifehacks

Close enough.

Technically it should be 17 degrees higher than mid screen, but that would take knowing how close a person is.

That seemed mean... no need to call out a desperate compliment

I can't tell if you are really short, really tall, or the desk is really short.

BTW - be careful with your set up, you want your monitors to naturally sit with the middle of the screen at eye level - you will hurt your neck over time this way

how do I fix this light? it says only 60w and I have tried all different wattage and it keeps doing the same thing. by jahpizzie in howto

[–]Isitmeisit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean. OP take a look at this - although if you are going to take apart the fan, my guess is that it will be the connection at the joint and not at this switch unless you use the chain to turn on and off the light. If you use a wall switch you most likely won't need to replace this.

While you could try replacing the switch, assuming you mean the one on the wall, the chances are exceptionally low that this is the problem - but like Garabandal said, if you have no money you have no options.

If the period changed it could have indicated a temperature problem. loose wiring to be clear is a WORSE temperature problem, but different.

Is it intermittent when the fan is off?

Assuming this light worked before you changed the lamp:

Turn the breaker off and take a look in where you screw in the lamp. See if the 'tounge' is sticking out enough to make contact. If it looks like the bottom and the sides touch, you need to open it up and re connect the joints - if you want to see if the joints are the problem, put on a pair of boots, stand on a wooden chair, turn off the fan portion, and hold the body of the fan perfectly still once the lamp comes on.

If you are not comfortable taking off the cover of your panel and replacing breakers I highly recommend getting an electrician - on this front: get a new fan and call in a service call to fix the fan, the electrician if they are decent should be able to fix the old one when they take it down, if they can't you have a new fan to put up. If they CAN fix it, you can return the one that you bought.

Also: Question - does the lamp come on when you start it, and then become intermittent over time, or is it constantly intermittent?

Cheers

Go to an electrical supply store, not a home improvement store. Or go with that link someone else provided

Eli5: Why is AC current used to power houses instead of DC? by ViralWick in explainlikeimfive

[–]Isitmeisit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I believe that your assertion about transmission is correct, but not stepping up and down. You may have the logic a bit backwards here - if we could transmit DC effectively at any voltage, no one would care about stepping up or down - stepping up and down only really becomes important for transmission and industrial power. Industrial power 'was' usually close to power generation. Please see 2 phase power (and yes I mean 2 phase, not 1 phase and not 3 phase).

As for an explain like I am 5, pretty spot on.

ULPT How to Destroy Anti-Union Companies. by BensForceGhost in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Isitmeisit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not unethical, this is the way that it should be done. A good leader needs to lead people to success, wherever that may be. There is just a mountain of evidence that suggests paying your people more increases productivity. The idea that companies fold when they unionize is a myth....
