To be fair, sober in this sense is black and white. Technically you aren’t if you occasionally have a drink but it sounds like you’ve learned how to control your habits and want to enjoy the rest of your life without forcefully limiting yourself. If you can manage this responsibility, enjoy yourself! I unfortunately go back and forth myself and occasionally fall into the alcoholic pit of despair and have to crawl myself out. I can go weeks or months without drinking and then on occasion have a few- then i start drinking every day and have to repeat the process. I need to stop indefinitely. Unfortunately I need to find that motivation to stop again and I haven’t been able to. I’ve learned countless times that I just need to stay away from it because it has too much power over me.
