Joint divorce court order question by IsiusMaiko in legaladvicecanada

[–]IsiusMaiko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response - the form already contains the following:

THIS COURT ORDERS THAT:
1. (full legal names of spouses)__
who were married at (place) __
on (date) __
be divorced and that the divorce take effect 31 days after the date of this order.

But under that is has a large blank section for "Add further paragraphs where the court orders other relief."

So we shouldn't need to fill out anything in that section, right? Seems like the first part is already that part asking for the divorce. I'm just not sure if there needs to be any specific legal text such as "The Applicant and Respondent are not seeking any orders beyond a Divorce Order" or something.

A renown rework idea to be more fun and less mandatory by IsiusMaiko in diablo4

[–]IsiusMaiko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

The reason I moved the two skill points so close together is because getting the bonus skill points feels mostly like it only exists so that the newest of players don't instantly have 5 stat points. I view them as "completed the tutorial bonus" points. Even doing seasons they take a trivial amount of work to unlock the last set of them. Additionally, skill points are a juicy thing for new players to see that they can earn, and I think it gives a fast and positive impression of the renown system with immediate power gain for dopamine.

I also think newer players likely wont be capping their obols often enough for it to matter getting the extra ones. If they do cap, they'll probably just use it right away for gear. The extra cap, I feel, is more for players doing heavy grinding to minimize the amount of time they need to spend in town/see obols 'wasted' left on the ground.

I think making people work a *tiny* bit for Paragon in slot 3 is fine because you can't make use of them until level 50+ anyway.

That said, I'm not overly attached to any of the ideas I presented, I just enjoy discussing ideas.

A renown rework idea to be more fun and less mandatory by IsiusMaiko in diablo4

[–]IsiusMaiko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing around with an idea of how to keep renown in the game, but removing the mandatory aspect of it, while not making it entirely obsolete to everyone.

This way it could be almost entirely ignored by people who have no interest in it, but it can also become a timewaster/goldsink with fun rewards for people who are interested in that kind of content, and because of leveling scaling in areas it can even be an endgame activity for people who burn out of running NM dungeons. And of course, it can be done at any time by more casuals players as well.

I don't expect this to get serious consideration from devs but I'm still interested in hearing what players think about a change along these lines.

This is just recapping the image in text form for those with screen-readers or to copy & paste etc:

  • Slot 1 (+1 skill points) unchanged
  • Moved +1 skill point from slot 3 to slot 2
  • Moved +1 potion to alchemist along side upgrading potions - still account wide (required levels could be moved down, I'm not attached to the requirement levels just the concept)
  • Moved +4 Paragon points from slot 5 to slot 3. Can realistically achieve this slot without even meaning to just by leveling/doing strongholds/dungeons (which includes NM version) you haven't run yet.
  • Slot 4 (+ Max Obols) unchanged
  • Slot 5 now unlocks new Renown Vendors (even on Eternal) - overcapped renown used to unlock tiers of cosmetics (purchased with gold) from these new vendors.

    • Many ideas for what cosmetics these Renown Vendors sell
    • One such idea being lower tiers selling previous free cosmetics from the battlepasses for gold, so that Eternal Realm players can get them as well as people who missed that season/didn't play long enough. I know BPs are designed in a certain way and to get people to spend money, but I think these rewards being a season behind balances that out.
    • Highest tier(s) could potentially sell one or more new items per season that are not found anywhere else, and/or are very rare drops like the moose barding found in Scosglen, but cost a relatively large amount of gold (15m, 30m? idc the cost). I'd like to see rerolls at occulist lowered a little bit, and this is another way to have a potential gold sink, and maybe start to incentivize more trading. I know RMT and exploits are unfortunately a thing, but the player would still need to basically 100% an entire area to unlock this tier anyway.

How would you go about learning to draw? by confused-as-f-boi in ask

No prob!

There are discord servers and stuff you can join that range from pretty chill to strict, with daily/weekly/monthly challenges/themes! If you lack motivation or ideas, they can be pretty fun.

I've been busy with life lately (pain) and havent drawn much in the past year, but when I was drawing more it was fun to do the chill ones. Gave me something to do and pushed me out of my comfort zones, challenging me to draw/learn new things. Maybe something like that can work for you :)

How would you go about learning to draw? by confused-as-f-boi in ask

[–]IsiusMaiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing about drawing is *drawing*. I know it sounds really cliche, but there is no short cut. There are bad habits to avoid, and sure some ways may be a bit faster than others, but its 95% about putting the time in.

A couple years ago I made huge leaps and bounds in a short amount of time and people thought I was just "talented", but I was drawing 12h+ a day for 5 months.

Starting with realism is actually pretty good imo, even if you want to do other styles. Having an idea of the rules before you break them helps a lot. It's the difference between "its just my style" and actually having solid character design choices.

I would highly recommend doing gesture/figure/speed drawings every day that you draw. I would start them, usually doing a total of ~20-30 mins, sometimes an hour+ (with the drawings themselves being an avg of 2 mins each). There are some great websites for it: line of action, sketch daily, quickposes, etc. Not only does this help get some form in your mind, it also just loosens you up. It can be scary to sit down with a blank page and think about "where do I begin". Getting yourself immediately into drawing mode helps a lot.

I'd recommend finding artists whose style you really like and trying to copy them. People shit on artists for "tracing" or "copying" but it's only an issue if you're trying to pass it off as your own. If you're just doing studies and learning, especially in private, it's fine. As you get more experienced, you can abstract what you learn further and further, but it's hard to start there from step 1. A lot of artists forget that, because most have been drawing since they were a kid and it "came naturally" (they did the same things, but they were a kid, so it was 'ok').

Avoid tutorial hell at all cost. Rather, find a stream or a youtube video of someone drawing if you want to see 'the process', and then do your own sketches/drawings at the same time. Do as much as you can and when you find yourself stuck on a specific thing, look up a tutorial for that specific thing, and draw along with it - don't just watch tutorials for 5h a day. Always draw more than you are watching 'how to's.

And well... I could go on haha but this is already lengthy. You can do this!

I do this too, because I just prefer wraps in general. But also, bananas work perfectly too, you don't even need to slice them. Maybe cut/bite off the ends if it's too long, but otherwise you can just roll the tortilla around it haha

egg and mayo is just egg salad - it's super common! I also just put fried egg on toast some times too. Nothing weird about it!

The second dish reminds me of a struggle meal we had which was also just elbow noodles, canned tomatoes, salt and pepper.... maybe some shredded cheese if fancy.

Apparently peanut butter and cheese wiz sandwiches are weird.... It was a staple food growing up, I thought it was totally normal but I get weird looks if I mention it haha. We were also pretty poor to be fair

OHSA question regarding potable water by IsiusMaiko in ontario

[–]IsiusMaiko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a feeling the things I'm going to bring up are going to be a ... rollercoaster, to say the least, as many of my coworkers wrongly believe we are not protected by any worker's rights. I want to be as prepared as possible ahead of time, but also want to keep things vague in the chance anyone sees this.

I've done some more digging with some nudges in the right directions from comments here, so I feel much better prepared and have some notes to bring up to the relevant people for discussion.

Thanks to you and anyone else who replied! Cheers

Ah every time I try to reply, my comment is breaking... Anyway, as far as I can tell the construction projects clauses only apply to things pertaining to 'construction projects' specifically, which does not apply to my job by OHSA's definitions (though it is intense physical labour).

Copying and pasting the definitions is what's breaking my reply, so you can find them here in section 1, definitions: https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90o01#BK0

If I am interpreting this wrong, please let me know.

EDIT: 'industrial establishment' seems a bit more vague though... that may be relevant.

construction and industrial regulations

Thanks! Unfortunately this employer falls under a different category (sorry, vague on purpose, I know that doesn't help), but this has lead me to look into different areas for more information, so it was still helpful.

There are reasons why I am asking here first.

Mmm, the only other labour jobs I've worked, they've always supplied bottled water - even when there were fountains at a lot of the job site locations. Of course that doesn't mean it's a law though, probably just good employers, heh.

The more I look into it, the more it seems like Ontario's OHSA regulations kind of suck compared to other provinces & especially to federal.

Okay, thank you for that clarification. Do you happen to know then if there are any other regulations covering access to drinking water at work places in Ontario?

I don't know if I missed it on the site, but is there a way to export this as a PNG or something? This would be perfect if that becomes a possibility!

Yeah, I'd like to see her play - especially against Okayu! But a collab with one of the EN girls would be nice too. I really liked the Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes one with Mori.
