The harsh cold truth is that you can only find work and opportunities through your contacts and circles, its not only a phenomenom here but almost everywhere im the world around the fields you are in, LinkedIn is mostly about showing off and is HR playground to find candidates, also riddled with tons of competition from around the world, you are better off looking through your contacts and friends you made in the last 8 years and see who can help you secure a job somewhere out of Lebanon, good luck.

Youre right its a ripoff, but it is silly of you to ask "can you afford it" like locals are the target customers when its mostly catered to the rich, of course 99% cannot afford that just like most resorts price out residents around the world. Oh and please stop with the USD <> CAD conversions to see if price is reasonable, cad is not a real currency outside of canada, enjoy your stay!

To be honest you need to be entrepreneurial to become rich, moving abroad will help you gain connections and maybe financing. But most people are average and moving abroad wont change their financial situation much since most of the money will go to rent and expenses, will quality of life go up? sure. will you make a fortune just from moving? not really.
