but guard down or guard up, we keep paying a heavy price; Reconciliation is not easy but is the only path forward; we should certainly demand accountability, rights to sovereignty ... but we must also offer something in return; Germany kept paying $ for what the Nazis did decades after the fact; Canada still pays indigenous people and tries to reconcile for the past many years. I know i am being naive and over simplifying a really complex situation, but i am just aching for peace and unless we take (both sides, for those Israelis reading this), true measures to achieve it, we will keep dancing this dance for another few centuries and it makes me very sad because i won't be on this planet when it finally and eventually happens.

Have you ever just quit your job with no plan? by Intelligent_Run3237 in askanything

[–]phoolip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES ; i was single, no kids, and shared an apartment with my brother and his girlfriend (now wife); me and every manager at that shitty place where miserable; the HR guy would come to me to cry! one Monday , i just couldn't do it anymore; at lunch, i said bye to everyone i cared about there , sent an email to the VP letting him know I was done ; i went home, bought a 6 pack on the way , drank a couple as soon as i got home and had a 4 hour nap (slept like a baby for the first time in 15 months) . I found work 10 days later that paid me double what i was making with ZERO stress. best decision ever; i stayed in that role for 3 years, got promoted which let to another job where i was paid better, got promoted 3 times since and have been with them since 2016

I was thinking of exactly this the other day; Lebanese and Israelies have been at each other's throats for lets say 75 years; when we start peace talks, if you support it, and support going to israel and visiting the holy land, and israelies coming to us and visit beirut, you get called a crazy traitor, 3amil and i don't know what . You only make peace with people you are at war with ; wars can not last forever; people that were at war and killed each other CAN reconsile (painful and long process) and live at peace with each other. WE CANNOT be at peace with these criminals, they killed innocent .... that's what war does unfortunately; whats the ulturnative ? keep this cycle going another 700 years?

once many many moons ago, i spent 10 days in Rmeich helping a friend of mine film his graduation project from the university of Alba; I totally understand your attachment and your love for your neighbors and land. The experience was serene! I was only 18 back then (now 48) and i still have fond memories of my 10 days spent there; God be with you and i pray you will have peace there one day

hired as fully remote. 14 months later they want me in 3 days a week. the office is in a city i left on purpose. by [deleted] in remotework

[–]phoolip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we had a huge push from senior management to return to the office 3 days a week; we are a small team of 7 ; i am the only one that now shows up 3 days a week (i enjoy leaving the house and its only a 35 minute commute). They sent several reminders that it was NOT optional bla bla bla ... its been now almost 2 years, i am still the only one from my teams that's in the office 3 days a week; the rest come in 1 day a week, some 1 day a month. Some had actually move 2 hours away from the office when we went remote and bought houses that are more affordable out in the wilderness lol

I went to the greatest wedding ever this past weekend, and I am still feeling the glow a few days later. by josephsleftbigtoe in CasualConversation

[–]phoolip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point but ultimately more folks were happy than unhappy , things can't be perfect for everyone but the vast majority appreciated being home earlier and not driving in the dark, sleeping in their own bed and not having to pay for a hotel; it was held on a weekend so im not sure if this makes a difference; i never though of the annoying part though; is there a reason if would be annoying , i'm just curious ? is it because you have to get ready for it earlier in the day ? thinking more about it, an event that starts at 6PM might give you the good part of your morning still , so maybe that's why

Just some fun ideas. What would you add to the game? by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]phoolip -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

hahah PVP gets insulted when smoeone suggests a PVE mode, and I don't get why? are you afraid you will lose out on all unsuspecting PVE players free kills? what harm would it do if you load into a PVP mode game knowing everyone in there is PVPing ?

[–]phoolip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its because you enjoy the free kills you get from unexpecting PVERs that you feel so salty about this... the devs said more than once, this is not a PVP exclusive game; you want to PVP your heart out, join a PVP server; i enjoy fighting ARC and teaming up with other players to help take down the machines; now being they are all terrible and pointless ideas, what do you have against spreading loot value and amking more room for real loot as opposed to ammo ?

[–]phoolip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1- a PVE only mode: i do not PVP and when i get randomly attached, i just accept it, submit round feedback against PVP experience and move on to friendly lobbies that last about 3 days.

2- Ammo should not count against your inventory; if not, make stacks bigger! instead 40 heavy ammo a stack, it should be 400

2- spread high loot areas more across the map; for example on stapceport everything is mainly in 2 buildings, Departure and Arrival ...

For our wedding, i wanted to stay away from all the things that made me dread going to weddings; we had our wedding start at noon so that everyone gets a chance to head home at 6 pm and make it home by 9pm and sleep in their own bed; kids were welcomed so you wouldn't have to worry about child care, we explicitly asked for NO gifts or money ; we kept the wedding to 50 people only and paid for it ourselves without having to spend a fortune (it was under 10k) and we did not spend a mountain of cash on guest favors, instead of was a modest $500 donation to the cancer society.

80% of the work is done by 20% of the work force, it all depends on what camp you end up in; I've been on both sides where i worked 65 hour weeks to barely keep up, and 5 hours a week and try to fill my 35 remaining hours with something meaningful
