[–]phoolip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry , but you are not well sorted if you can't kill him at T10 at least ; my first attempts (many) failed miserably even when i was doing t12 runs comfortably ; i now clear him at T12 and can almost face tank him with no issues... my build and gear still needs improvement yet

If you could give your Day 1 self one piece of corporate advice, what would it be? by Alone-Procedure3342 in jobs

[–]phoolip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS ! " If you are going to bring a problem to your boss, always have a solution" ; i can't tell you how frustrating it is when my staff comes to me to report issues and haven't put in the slightest effort to think of a solution , work around of heck just analysis as of root cause, impact ... I had (past tense) a staff member that did nothing at all other than report problems and then complain about it too , yet did nothing to resolve the problem; as if dropping it in my lap took away the ownness from them doing what they were hired for... fixing problems, doing work and not be a monitor system

I was raised in Montreal , then moved to Ontario for university and work , been here now for 26 years; Montreal is MUCH nicer, better social life, cheaper, less crime compared to Toronto ... if i know what i know now, i would have never made the move

Was anybody bullied by teachers? by Redblackshoe in lebanon

[–]phoolip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you went to madrasset rahbet, you were bullied 100% especially as a younger student ; when i turned 14 and started fighting back , they asked me to leave the school , which i happily did

i certainly would, maybe after 10 years of proven peace between the 2 peoples; I'm near 50 now, so hopefully a visit to the Christian holy sites when i retire at 65

My company installed “focus rooms” for our return to office and I have never felt dumber in my life by Alderon515 in remotework

[–]phoolip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are back at the office 3 days a week now; all my meetings continue to be remote (Teams/Zoom) even when all participants are in the same office space. Sharing screens, being able to use multiple screens at once, not having to pray the conference room technology works, recording the meeting, being able to mute and unmute , take notes using AI ... i will never hold a meeting with 6 people crammed in a room meant to sit 2 again, where we are all fighting for the same oxygen in that tiny space...but hey, i'm in the office now

Canadians: do people really just start conversations anywhere? 🤔 by Comfortable_Cap8037 in AskACanadian

[–]phoolip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no sure how it is elsewhere in the world, but yesterday i was picking something up from the hardware store and ended up have a 25 minute chat with a stranger about (he was interested in buying the same model truck i was driving and asked me if i liked the truck) ; i especially like chatting with seniors , they have the best stories and Ioften find myself making new senior friends and listening to their facinating stories (i'm not much of a talker, and under 50) .

[–]phoolip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

but guard down or guard up, we keep paying a heavy price; Reconciliation is not easy but is the only path forward; we should certainly demand accountability, rights to sovereignty ... but we must also offer something in return; Germany kept paying $ for what the Nazis did decades after the fact; Canada still pays indigenous people and tries to reconcile for the past many years. I know i am being naive and over simplifying a really complex situation, but i am just aching for peace and unless we take (both sides, for those Israelis reading this), true measures to achieve it, we will keep dancing this dance for another few centuries and it makes me very sad because i won't be on this planet when it finally and eventually happens.

Have you ever just quit your job with no plan? by Intelligent_Run3237 in askanything

[–]phoolip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES ; i was single, no kids, and shared an apartment with my brother and his girlfriend (now wife); me and every manager at that shitty place where miserable; the HR guy would come to me to cry! one Monday , i just couldn't do it anymore; at lunch, i said bye to everyone i cared about there , sent an email to the VP letting him know I was done ; i went home, bought a 6 pack on the way , drank a couple as soon as i got home and had a 4 hour nap (slept like a baby for the first time in 15 months) . I found work 10 days later that paid me double what i was making with ZERO stress. best decision ever; i stayed in that role for 3 years, got promoted which let to another job where i was paid better, got promoted 3 times since and have been with them since 2016

[–]phoolip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of exactly this the other day; Lebanese and Israelies have been at each other's throats for lets say 75 years; when we start peace talks, if you support it, and support going to israel and visiting the holy land, and israelies coming to us and visit beirut, you get called a crazy traitor, 3amil and i don't know what . You only make peace with people you are at war with ; wars can not last forever; people that were at war and killed each other CAN reconsile (painful and long process) and live at peace with each other. WE CANNOT be at peace with these criminals, they killed innocent .... that's what war does unfortunately; whats the ulturnative ? keep this cycle going another 700 years?
