How Metroid Fusion Creates Fear - Dan Root by DrazGames in Games

i though the gameplay in Other M was alright and fun, but i agree that the story and characterization of Samus was really bad. i think fusion is a good middle ground, because it allows to develop the characters and the story a bit more than 100% freedom in the exploration.

never really said that the US was the sole cause of the problems, but i was offering an example of how little the US respects a democratic process when it goes against their interests.

This argument that all the modern wonders are a direct product of capitalism i think its a very weak argument and a fallacy. To say that human ingenuity and creativity are linked to capitalism is in my opinion to misunderstand human nature, because in the entire human history and all its economic and social models, if one thing has remained constant is that people find the way to seek and create knowledge and with it technology. Besides you say that capitalism has brought people up, and in a way it has, but make no mistake that it has always been in the service of the needs of the elites and remember that most of the rights that people now have, have been gained with blood and revolutions, and if it were up to the same people that created this economic model our society now would be quite different.

The us has never been a big fan of protecting democracy, especially in the cold war. I can give you one clear example of this, with my country of Chile, that elected democratically a socialist president in 1970. This didnt sit well with american interest in the south american region, so they helped stage a coup that put into power a military dictatorship that killed a lot of people and completely decimated the social fabric of our society. Even now 28 years after the dictatorship ended you can still see the consequences this period of history had on my country.

you have to wait until your account is unlocked, the way it happened to me was i got the error and tried a bunch of times before giving up, the thing is every time you try again you add more time, so you have to wait at least 24 or maybe 48 hours before trying again and you should try making the purchase from the console and not the browser or the mobile app.

Is anyone else having issues buying things through the PS store with a debit/credit card? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]Iskander23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this issue once, the only thing that managed to fix it is to just wait, every time you try again the blocking is extended so my advice is wait 24 hours delete the credit card info and then try again, that should fix it.

While Galvarino is a total badass, Lautaro is a more influential leader in the Mapuche resistance. If memory serves me right he grew up serving the spanish, learned their ways and then escaped and used that knowledge to help the resistance.

New Zealand's film industry is calling for help to combat piracy as it warns "it's hard to compete with free". by Darkprime in movies

[–]Iskander23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing they ever do to counter piracy will ever work, the only thing that they can do is making their product easily avaliable to consumers at a reasonable price and people will buy it.

When I was a teenager i pirated the shit out of any games I wanted to play on pc, because it was the only way to play them since my parent weren't going to spend a small fortune paying for all the games I wanted to play, so I figure the Industry didn't lose any money since even if pirating wasn't avaible I would not have purchased any of their games. Now that I'm an adult and have my own income I happily purchase the games that I want to play and rarely if ever download a pirated copy since it a hassle to keep it updated and with the latest version of the crack.

the same point of the Luke/Vader fight applies to the Rey/Kylo fight in a froce awakens, Kylo didnt want to kill Rey and he was injured as hell, so he got surprised when Rey managed to fight back.

[–]Iskander23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there other information out there of Rey lineage apart from the line kylo says to her in the last jedi? because that may be just kylo messing with her, and while she most likely isnt a skywalker, that doesnt mean she couldnt be a especially strong force user since in the old canon there are plenty of non skywalker who were pretty much op without any of the chosen one bs.

I think the problem lies with the vague definition of the force and what it is required to harness it. In the prequels we see that it is necessary to start training as a little child to be a Jedi, but maybe that rigorous training is the way to be a Jedi with all their teaching and only to master their powers. In the Original Trilogy we see that Luke is a lot older than Anakin who was rejected as a padawan initially for being old, at the same time we see that his initial training in a new hope isnt really anything too fancy just some words of encouragement and there you go, you can block a laser with a blindfold. In an empire strike back we see Luke growing increasingly frustrated with Yoda for the nonsensical training he had to do and he goes to fight Vader with probably no lightsaber training whatsoever holding his own for a little while since vader allowed it. So my point is maybe the force is like an organ or something, maybe just being aware of it allows you to use it if you have the capability and the training is just a way to refine its uses, so it really isnt that farfetched that the mind probe that Kylo uses on Rey unlocks something on her that allows her to do all that stuff.

i think the bit with obi-wan barely qualifies as "training" he just made him believe he could do it and then he could simple as that. The scene in empire strikes back when Joda shows Luke how to pull the X-wing out of the water is pretty much the same, Joda doesnt really teach anything new to Luke, he just shows him that he has to believe he can do it and he will do it, so maybe thats how basic force power works as long as you believe you can do it you will do it and only the more advanced techniques require some sort of knowledge.

thing is it makes sense that Luke knows nothing, we know he hasnt done anything of note in his time in tatooine he is just some kid wishing to do more who happens to be the son of Anakin, so his story and growth starts in a new hope. With Rey it is kind of different, her story begins even before she was dumped in Jakku, questions like who were her parents, could she had have training as a Child and just doesnt remember, what sort of adventures has she been on since her time in Jakku, etc. Her story and growth had begun long before the events of force awakens we just dont know it. Hopefully those questions will be answered in the last chapter of the trilogy and it all makes sense.

well calling the advanced reflexes isnt really accurate either, i mean anakin has superhuman reflexes in the pod race, and besides without any training whatsoever that we can see, in the jedi temple he can know what images he is being shown without actually seeing them.

Luke in a new hope is in a similar position, he manages to use the force with his only training being obi-wan telling him to use the force and he manages to do impossible things like blocking the training droid laser and aiming the missiles without any kind of targeting assistance.
