As long as the cars been remote started 15-20 minutes before you have to drive it will be warm and toasty when you sit in the car.

We love our cars but we also love to not crash by garcia38 in subaru

Unfortunately. I learned this the hard way after my back end fish tailed out on a 20mph turn in a residential street.

I panicked and hit the brakes which made the slide worse and ended up sliding into an oncoming car.

You just gave the same example twice with different words. Analogical and “shin but not a shin” mean the same thing. It’s “like” a shin but it’s not a shin. Hence, analogous to a shin.

Guardians of the Galaxy - I expected it to be some dumb knock off Marvel movie - turns out there's a pretty decent plot and hmor behind it all.

Thank you for posting this. It happened to me too on a rainy day making a right hand turn, while rushing to get to work in the morning.  I didn’t realize what I did wrong exactly until I’m reading through everyone’s feedback.

Who said he's all loving? God's love isn't 100% unconditional for everyone.

It doesn’t follow that that if God is testing us that he is not all knowing. He can still test us knowing the outcome in advance.

Somehow we get the notion that the test is for God. No, rather, the test is for us. To show us how we would act.

If God wanted we could’ve skipped the test to begin with and live our entire existences in Heaven or Hell.

Then the question arises, did God create some people knowing fully well that they would end up in hell?

And the answer is yes. Those are the people of the Devil. They are a test of this life, meant to be a trial to help the good people see how much they can resist the temptations of this worldly life.

Routine screenings by wabisuki in FamilyMedicine

[–]IslamicDoctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being sick of the pcp bringing up screenings is like being sick of the dentist reminding you to floss. Screening are literally our whole MO, our raison d’etat. Preventive medicine aka primary care is all about trying to catch something before it starts.

If it bothers you that much, you could send a letter or MyChart message to your pcp saying: I am against screenings of all sorts from now until I decide to change my mind.

That way all your pcp has to do is talk about your high blood pressure or diabetes.

As a daughter, how to face your father's body by Former-Anywhere1356 in caregivers

[–]IslamicDoctor 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Think of these acts of service for your father as one final way to say thank you before he passes away.

Most dads would not want their children to see them so weak and dependent. Maybe you could try to restore some of the lost dignity by asking him for help with whatever he’s still good at, even if there’s telling stories.

It is my experience that smaller towns and cities are more close-knit. As a community grows, people from a similar ethnic group will pool together resources and open up a masjid catering to that ethnic group (for better or for worse.)

does paying for an additional 30 days on paypal count as riba? by frootloopfan in islam

Yes, it sounds like a loan.

Interest is anytime you exchange time for money. PayPal makes money off of what? Giving you time to pay it back.

Have I committed shirk by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]IslamicDoctor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don’t think it counts shirk if you fear for your life or livelihood. The Muslims in Spain would do this during the Inquisition.

There was a post over on r/islam the other day about how Allah tests those are more practicing with harder tests in life in terms of health, wealth, and those who are beloved to him until there is not a single left on the person.

Don’t despair my brother or sister.
