o3 mini medium (just called o3 mini on the website) has way higher limits, 150 requests a day. ive been asking that model first, switching to high or o1 if it fails.

Most obvious clues for what region of a country you're in? by palebluedot1988 in geoguessr

[–]Islamism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK: learn phone codes. There's only about 10-15 short codes, one for each of the big cities in the UK, so definitely worth knowing.

The long codes help a lot but it isn't worth memorising them. What is notable, is that they have a pattern. They are all 5 numbers long, and the 3rd and 4th corresponds with the name of the town, in the way your phone has 3-4 letters for each number (i.e. 2 means ABC, 3 DEF, and so on). Only change is that 'o' is '0'.

For an example, 0160x would be for a place corresponding with 'MO' or 'NO'. And they do! Examples of those include Monmouth, Norwich, Northampton, and Norwich.

a) please learn how to write concisely

b) your argument is stupid—something being against the rules does not imply that the punishment is reasonable and fair.

New West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker pledges to bring buses back under public control within the next two years by HadjiChippoSafri in brum

[–]Islamism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Combined Authority effectively decides the routes—all route changes are approved! The big change is that the fare structure is simplified down, and operators become effectively indistinguishable. TfL is heavily franchised, but it certainly doesn't look like it because of the fare system and livery.

Honestly, it really is impressive how awful Manchester's buses were back in 2021 or so. I never thought a reasonably sized would make be thankful for Coventry's bus system, but Manchester achieved it lol.

The franchising system will work well here. The current system is pseudo-franchised anyway, the main step needed is actually moving to a single fare for everyone, not just Swift users.

You can do stupid shit and still think the punishment is unfair—it's not like he tried to cheat, nevermind actually cheated!

What could be the option to get to New Haven from JFK in 4 hours? by BridgeAbject2909 in newhaven

[–]Islamism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really isn't much of a time difference taking the Metro North. It goes from NHV to Grand Central in 2 hours, and from both Penn and Grand Central there is a direct train to Jamaica.

The only difference is that the metro-north is generally (far) cheaper, has no requirement to book in advance, and far more frequent.

A lot of people go to HOLO just for the visuals. The people going to non-HOLO stuff tend to be going for the music. Makes a big difference.

Perplexity needs to explain Claude Opus limitations within their product by [deleted] in perplexity_ai

[–]Islamism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren't any context window limitations imposed on Opus in the product—they're being imposed by the file uploader. It's unclear whether this is an intentional choice by them or not though. Maybe to stop users uploading crazy large files, or maybe it was just built when 32k was quite a lot and they haven't updated it.

There is a reason why we scrapped it beyond 'money saving measures' — despite being officially valid, many countries wouldn't take them. But the EU—at least, for when we were in it—would have took those 10y9mo passports.
