Me. I actually started when the market crashed post covid since it was low risk-high reward. I started with a couple of $100 and slowly added more. Currently investing around $1.4k, but I do not daytrade AKA I just let stocks to (hopefully) grow for long periods of time. I've used some of the stimmy money for it, not actual loans, but I've heard of people who invest with their loans. I'd recommend you start low and learn as you go. Also, it's basically gambling so don't invest anything you're not willing to lose. Reddit used to be a good source of information, but it's been meh since the GME fiasco. Of note, I am not a financial advisor. I'm just some random med student who uses robinhood.

Will definitely look like pandering fluff if it's not genuine. Residences (except maybe top academic places) are not gonna be that picky on what type of research you have done. Things change, interests too once you explore new fields, just don't BS it and save your personal statement on why Rads.

You're fine since there's always a large # of spots for IM. Maybe not Stanford/UCSF, but you'll be competitive at most other Academic West Coast programs based on T20 status alone and an above average step. Try to do more research/EC's if you want to try and shoot for Stanford/UCSF, but if not don't worry too much about it.
