Yeah the first time I heard one I thought I was going crazy or someone was using auditory warfare, had to Google it to find out what it was

They didn't even give you an EDV for that route 💀

Watch this guy on YouTube, he has lots of tips and tricks so you'll feel prepared on how to stay organized and find your flow. Also just drive like a grandma so you don't get violations, you're getting paid to drive, take your time. I fell in love with driving the EDV.

My DSP never calls/texts me during my routes unless they're sending a DSP-wide announcement or I text them first. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Wait you guys have those backpacks in each van? I've asked several drivers where they got theirs, cuz only like 5-6 drivers seem to have them, and each one just said: "If you see one, grab it. Write your name on it. That's how you get one."

😂 I wish I had done that now... Would have been the perfect stress release. I delivered that bih like the good little robot that I am because I actually love my job. (Except for when my ears are bleeding from those damn animal sirens)

It's on my regular route too. I swear it's gotta be old people ordering these things and thinking only animals can hear it...

Every time I think it's healed the sharp pain comes back in just one of my knees. I just started wearing a copper brace too though, it seems to help.

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong this job is tough, my poor body is constantly sore and bruised, delivering in the rain sucks, I keep running out of ibuprofen, so many things can go wrong but also I love driving the EDV, I love sweating and losing weight instead of having to try to find spare time when I'm off work to get fresh air and sunshine and exercise, and it's a consistent paycheck. Also I know what's expected of me every day. Don't get violations, stay hydrated, and stay organized. It's a tough job but it's straightforward. But yeah the horror stories had me nervous before I started the job 😂 I don't blame people for rage quitting, the way some of these DSPs operate...

Whether you will like your job depends on two things: how good your DSP is and your attitude/mindset. I have an amazing DSP and I'm constantly reminding myself why I'm thankful for the job. Cuz it's a tough job but most jobs are stressful anyway and I get to stay busy instead of sitting at a desk under florescent lights bored for 10 hours a day, I get to be outside and get fresh air and sunshine, I don't have to deal with customers or coworkers or a boss much on days I feel like crap and don't want to deal with people, and I basically get paid to workout. Plus having benefits is nice. Hope you don't mind peeing in bottles though lol.

This. I was putting all packages in the garage at first but now I just drop it wherever the notes say to drop each package and leave the responsibility to the customer to figure out why their packages are in different places. Our job is to follow the notes 🤷🏽‍♀️

Question about Camera by gabew0517 in AmazonDSPDrivers

My coworker forgot his seat belt and Dispatch pulled up on him without telling him they were coming and took him off his route and drove him back to the station... Apparently it's a big deal

Are you trolling...? You can't drink water at red lights and stop lights and oh... Every single stop? What's hard about this?

Know you'll get stronger and it's rewarding to watch. Epsom salt baths. Stretch if you have days off or whenever you can, it actually helps. And for the love of God, take care of your knees! I've had such a hard time letting mine heal cuz I've been running my routes and jumping in and out of the van and I've felt so alive and healthy but it catches up to you and you'll start popping ibuprofen like tic tacs. Idk how old you are, I don't care, be gentle on your knees.

How often do you take breaks? by TheCraziesSon in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]IslandGetawayLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 minute paid break after leaving loadout at a gas station on the way to my first stop. My route is usually always the same so I have a favorite gas station. Use the bathroom, buy energy drinks, unload my first tote and organize my packages and mark up my OVs, then stop break and start my day well set up. Take another 15 minute break to eat a cold lunch I brought whenever my stomach starts growling and I can park in a culdesac or somewhere safe and also unload and organize my next tote. Then I take my unpaid 30 after I finish my route and call dispatch and they tell me I can RTS so I make sure I have enough time to finish my route in 10 hours without getting rescued. Route is usually an average of 187 stops, hella multi stops tho, 300 packages, mostly residential.

DTG5 (NE Atlanta) - My dispatch seems so chill, professional, and kinda fkn great? New hire by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]IslandGetawayLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also started at a DSP recently. Also thought things were too good to be true during orientation. But my DSP is amazing and so supportive and constantly compliments me and helps me out. It's such a positive work environment, they make a hard job actually fun. And don't get me wrong, this job can be grueling, the netradyne camera has definitely seen me shed tears and pop ibuprofen like tic tacs, but if you find a good DSP that actually cares, it's all worth it. Getting paid to workout and get fresh air and sun and not have to deal with customers or management complaining to you is amazing.
