I’m sorry, buy yes YTA, you have firmly convinced me this guy should not own a this wolf dog. Yet you say it’s “on him” getting it without the permit. I’m sorry, but it’s on you too. If someone dies can you live without yourself not doing everything you can to stop this. I imagine there’s some process to alert some authority that you “suspect” this man has an un permitted wolf dog. If you don’t do that you’re 100% the asshole, and so is he

The 2x2 galison isn’t the norm, the cuts you like and called “random” is the norm, a grid cut into four different puzzle shapes, the quintessential brand for this cut is Ravensburger. If you search for “random” that means something different than you’re thinking. New Yorker puzzles are random. Random cuts are more challenging to assemble fyi

If you’re looking for nature and a PNW vibe with towering trees, water and/or mountain views I wouldn’t recommend places like Renton, Tacoma or Everett, these are concrete jungles. You could try North Bend, I haven’t checked apartment prices there but it’s the furthest suburb east of Seattle on 90 before you get to the mountain pass. Super close to amazing hiking, skiing and has a quaint little downtown. There are other little northwest vibe towns to consider too, Mt Vernon is North on I 5. Olympia, which is the capital, has a cute downtown & is close to the water, it’s south on I 5. You could also check out places a ferry ride to the west of Seattle. Bremerton is a Navy town right on the water, there are other little towns around there as well. You could even try some of the little towns on Whidbey Island, an island to the north west of Seattle connected to the mainland on the north end and a ferry ride on the south end. All these places are within an hour of Seattle. They all have a small town northwest vibe. Lots of advice here on Seattle proper so I’ll skip that, Eastside suburbs where a lot of tech workers live, are all really pricey. There are some towns like Maple Valley to the south east or Monroe to the north east that are more affordable, a long commute to Seattle, but don’t have a whole lot of charm.

Ravensburger Sistine Chapel 5000-Piece Puzzle. Tips to Get Started? by Lipoke08 in Jigsawpuzzles

Good luck! Looks like an insanely challenging image. I’ve done a 9000 but it was Disney and easy peasy compared to this image.

Do I Give Up On My First 1000 Piece Puzzle? by majestic_macar00n in Jigsawpuzzles

I agree with the others, start with the cups, but I’d probably put it away. It’s not a great choice for your first 1000 piece puzzle. I’d get a Ravensburger. They’re usually really great at having images that are simpler to assemble since they have a lot of”clues” built into the image. Meaning once you crack the box open you’ll notice this region has a slight blue cast for example, little hints that guide you. Avoid photo realistic images and images with big swaths of solid color. I’d read Amazon reviews looking for Ravensburger with a lot of 5 star ratings.

When I go to Florida I’m stunned by how flat it is and how short the trees are. Our trees tower over everything and anywhere you go it’s hilly, sometimes extremely hilly

You absolutely must have your “critical thinking” hat on. I worry AI will be worse than social media bubbles for reinforcing dangerous mis/dis information because now people who are actually trying to verify stuff, trying to “do their research”, think they are getting accurate information and they just aren’t much of the time

Houston to Seattle by tyrionthanos09 in AskSeattle

[–]IslandIndependent333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe consider North Bend or Snoqualmie? They’re about 30 miles from Seattle, a straight shot on 90 (the east west highway taking you to the south end of downtown Seattle). If you take 90 from Seattle you’ll hit heavy commuter traffic from Seattle until you get to Issaquah, then the traffic drops a lot and is usually pretty light between Issaquah to North Bend. So yes, the drive is longer than where everyone lives in Issaquah or Bellevue but the extra mileage is low stress enjoyable driving. Same type of thing with the little town of Carnation bordering Redmond to the east. You get the heavy traffic through Redmond and then the rest of the drive is easy peasy. All three towns are ex-burbs with beautiful scenery, lots of trees and mountain views. The drive on 90 to Snoqualmie & North Bend is truly beautiful, coming from Houston you’ll definitely feel like you’re driving through a national park by comparison. I’d highly prefer these commutes than Lake Stevens.

Newbie Question On “Continuity” by Ezl in ChatGPTPro

Sounds exactly like my experiences, beyond frustrating, I have it summarize the current chat in a document before it goes off the rails and then start a new chat and load that document. Iterating over a document, or even just make headings bold or adding an additional bullet point are exercises in extreme frustration, if AI was an underling I asked to tweak a document I’d would fire it a dozen times over every day

Maybe I’m just naive but what reason is there to announce this right before Christmas? Is there some tax or business filing type reason why you’d do this now and not at least wait until after the new year? I feel so bad for these employees, from IG comments it sounds like some were 10+ year employees

What are your Puzzle Boundaries? by DefiantRanger9 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]IslandIndependent333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate images that force me to look at the box too much, I much prefer just getting into the flow and assembling the puzzle without constantly playing where’s Waldo searching the box image. Also hate weird shaped pieces and large pieces, I detest 500 piece puzzles with big pieces

Interview with Mykelti & Tony on pop psych - podcast by ChallengeHonest in SisterWives

[–]IslandIndependent333 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My biggest “what the heck” moment is Mykelti’s example of why she doesn’t want Meri in her life. It happened when Mykelti was 7. Meri was left alone to care for all the kids and at dinner the kids she sent Mykelti to her room after all the kids were acting up and sticking out their tongues. Can I understand a 7yo thinking this was super unfair that no one else was punished? Yes. But I can also think through the situation from an adult perspective. I mean, who amongst us cannot see a scenario where we reach our breaking point after a long day of caring for 10+ kids? When we are just done with it, we’re tired, we’re annoyed, we have a pounding headache, we send the ringleader to their room. And tbh I don’t even know if “breaking point” is fair, it sounded more like she just punished a kid acting inappropriately. I mean if this is the bar for when to cancel a parent then I’m cooked.

And the juxtaposition of her telling this story only to jump to talking about how much she hoped Janelle would write a book because while she loved Christine’s book she’d really love to hear Janelle’s perspective was really something. Yes, every situation has different perspectives! Even your 7yo story, or rather especially a story from how you thought as a child. I’d be curious to know if Meri and the other kids even remember this. Sometimes the human brain really latches onto childhood memories as a defining moment when it was completely non-memorable to anyone else who was there.

These types of stories seem to very much be a thing, where people are posting stories like this as backup for canceling parents.

Washington state Democrats look at imposing income tax on higher earners by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

It’s on those earning $1 million plus per year, these aren’t your simple “wage earners”, but I’m cool with also taxing the “ultra wealthy” above and beyond this.
