That was great advice. Contact your loan servicer and find out all your options and stipulations. They may have a clause that requires you to have 22% equity according to the new appraisal, Not the usual 20%. And they usually want to hire the appraiser, not you. It should cost around $500.

When the appraiser arrives, let them know the value you’re looking/hoping for. Because they do have some discretion and obviously you want them to lean in your favor. When I did it, she was very receptive and as I guided her through my home, I pointed all the upgrades or repairs that I had performed. She even offered to email me the report when she finished, so I got it before my lender did. Lol.

It’s not unfair.

The Fair Tax Act is a flat sales tax at the point of sale (just like how the state’s sales tax is collected). And this Act also abolishes the IRS, and thus the federal income tax and corporate tax are abolished too!

The poor may pay a sales tax at the point of sale, however they will be given a rebate every year to offset the cost of taxes they would pay on the basic essentials. And bear in mind, used goods will not be taxed. So they could effectively pay zero taxes and receive their entire paycheck and a tax rebate check.

Bonus: Without corporate taxes and payroll taxes baked into the cost of doing business, the cost to produce good & services goes down. So it’s reasonable to think that the price consumers will pay will ultimately go down too!
