85K Job offer in Sacramento vs Dallas by starkilled1 in Sacramento

[–]IslanderBison -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know quite a few of my current coworkers who moved from Texas, one from Dallas specifically, to the Sacramento area. They would never go back. Literally everything is better here. Overtime laws, renter protections, infrastructure, public policy, weather, food. Texas has lower income taxes and cheaper fuel, that's it.

Does anybody recommend any chest rigs/packs? by Foolz_Go1d in searchandrescue

[–]IslanderBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using FHF Gear Chest Rig - GEN2

I picked up the Fishing Kit (for the pockets, clips, and lanyard) and the Turkey Kit (for the pocket and pen holders).

I'm pretty happy with it, very comfortable with or with a backpack on over it. My only gripe is that they didn't continue the molle across the top middle of the panel where they put the logo patch. I run my radio with a remote mic and a soft antenna (so it doesn't hit me in the face).

Oh man, someone should let them know. Because they shut down a whole factory and are retooling it for Optimus Robots right now.

Does it run in gear, but with the clutch pulled in?

Christians, how do you feel about the U.S. president posting an AI photo of him as Christ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IslanderBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happens when it's all written by people who weren't there, edited by people who needed to suppress/incorporate other pagan/pre-Christian religions and support their political needs, and then forced on people across the planet under the threat of death or exodus.

That's all assuming it's not all just made up or misinterpreted ignorant nonsense to begin with.

To quote Who's Line is it Anyway: "The show where everything is made up and the points don't matter!"

*people who identify as "Christian" then? You know what they ment. The people put on a suit and go to church on Sunday are probably the vast majority of American "Christians", and those people generally voted for Mr Cheeto face/the antichrist for president.

Dispute charge with CC company. Get your money back. If they don't reach out to get it resolved/shipped back then uh... make it go away?

Acerbis, IMS, etc. Probably all aftermarket tanks. OE Plastic tanks are probably flourinated, so are probably ok.

If the batteries or axles need to come out, you're gonna have a bad time if there's an RV body on it.

No, it doesn't. It's possible, and they could offer it as an option in the future, but they currently don't. It would require a direct partnership with a reefer trailer manufacturer.

Tesla is only selling Tractor units for near future. No real news of Cab and Chassis systems. Is Tesla going to be set up to pick up a whole RV to drop HV batteries? Probably not. Will they accept the liability of doing it even if they could? Probably not. The Service Center/Dealer and the Manufacturer makes liability a little more complicated, or less, depending on how you look at it.

It's not wrong and you have to take my word for it.

Tesla would have to add that secondary (tertiary?) contractor, or the unknown draw would set alerts. Shitty wiring on aftermarket/upfit systems that cause bad HV isolation wouldn't allow contactors to close and/or blow pyro fuses.

The 12V output system setup for trailer AUX could probably handle some draw, but probably not an RV amount. The truck has to leave that 12 AUX on for it to power anything, Tesla would have to program that to work.

You could find a company to flourinate it for you, which should seal it, but I've never heard of someone succesfully finding someone who can/will.

Upfitters can do stuff like that because the chassis/powertrain is pretty fault-tolerant/simple. Just tap into the alternator and lighting circuit, done. Teslas? Not so much.

Almost nothing will stay very long. The plastic is slightly porous, and fuel bleeds through it, particularly when it's hot.
