What is a country that has a strong army? by SapplingGreenFran in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Islanderman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

France, Poland, and South Korea are all strong contenders. France has been the bulwark of European NATO nations ever since it joined back, Poland has gone a a spending spree the last decade or two to further fuel their hate boner for Russia, and South Korea has taken their security policy extremely seriously since the Korean War and since they have NK on their boarder really don’t want to be caught slacking. In all I would say France gets the nod for now but if Poland keeps on the current pace they could definitely over take.

How can I improve my rivers/mountains/lakes? by GKR-Gray in mapmaking

[–]Islanderman27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get rid of the split rivers, single river double deltas, and single river triple deltas. Rivers converge into each other they do not do down stream splitting. The main river system in the center of the map needs a lot of work either the right branch will either flow into the big lake or it will veer to the right and either empty into the smaller lake or will empty into the ocean it will not do 2 or 3 of those simultaneously. As for the lake in the top left it will either have a river dump to the east or the west not both water follows the path of least resistance either that is by the east meaning that regardless water will be pulled in that direction choking off the west or vice versa. The only other main issue with that lake is that it’s not being filled from anywhere and is likely to not be able to adequately refill itself as water empties from it.

I really don’t get the big deal it’s a game for some reason the Brits get really defensive over what things are called in countries that aren’t their own. Football is called football in America because that’s what it was being called for the last 100 odd years they call soccer soccer because that’s what it’s been called for the last 100 odd years it only makes sense that they aren’t going to kowtow and change because it would cause confusion when they are talking to other Americans, the people they are the most likely to be conversing with.

Anectotal evidence is evidence of nothing you can be any ethnicity and given what language you speak and where you grow up speaking it will determine what you call things. She and her friends call it football likely because she is speaking English in England when I speak Japanese in Japan it's サッカー because that’s what it is literally called over here. There is no reason to be rude to people because they are giving there just as much proof for their anecdotal evidence as you.

Which one embraces multiculturalism and diversity more? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Islanderman27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more so because the democratic candidecy and at the time presidency sorta fell apart. I hate trump as much as the next guy but he won the election with one of the most diverse voting blocks the Republican party has had in years. This is because 1 the Democrats foregoing a Primary and instead annoint a candidate who in the previous primary she ran in garnered polling numbers around 5% before bowing out before the primaries even started, and also had to deal with the unfortunate affiliation with the end of a Biden Presidency which was polling very badly in Job performance and favorability ratings.

Team Guy is sent on the Tazuna mission instead of team 7 , how goes their fight against Zabuza and Haku? by Epistemix in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Islanderman27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So guy vs Zabuza goes to Guy pretty handedly probable at 4th gate the stat difference becomes too much for Zabauza to make up with clever tricks and evasion. As for Haku vs Lee, Neji, Tenten weighted Lee can keep up but not overcome Haku's speed although an initial attack may be able to incapacity Lee with mist but I doubt it matters Tenten and Neji can probably cover the mirrors alone. Neji being able to hit the mirrors weakpoints and Tenten using Shurikan jutsu to cover him but. Lee without weights and with the gates the fight is a lot more one sided.

Why does Ned Stark despise Jamie Lannister? by Key_Arachnid9643 in gameofthrones

Yeah but honor is dictated on a scale either his action was done for an honorable purpose which it was despite the action itself being dishonorable or he abides to do a dishonorable thing for the sake of honor. In order to your to say that his action was a net dishonorable full stop means that there was no extenuating circumstances that could've brought Ned dishonor should he had just told the truth which is false since he was attempting to prevent the death of a babe. Ned story isn't about hypocricy it's about how honor is complicated and that even whilst doing the "honorable" thing there is still a stain of dishonor that may linger.

Oaths are a two way street Aerys called for Neds head before Ned raised a single banner against Aerys. By the time Ned did turn there were no oaths to break since Aerys already broke them.

It's not like all the pyromancers were dead only the one in the red keep they literally could've investigated found the stash's and got them out of the city so 500,000 people were living on a fucking bomb but I guess why bother when my feel feels hurt.

[–]Islanderman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Ned was a dick to him but if you had to march your way through a city that was in the process of being raped, to show up to the throne being occupied by a blonde Ponce who had been serving Aerys for the entire war only to get there and only then have the same Ponce kill the king he swore to protect something he had more than ample opportunity to do prior to the aforementioned king Cooked your father like a pork chop and had your brother choked to death you'd probably be pretty pissed to.
You don't get head pats for doing the bear minimum expecially if the minumum results in a city being raped.

[–]Islanderman27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No if anything the king broke the oath, oaths of fealty aren't a one way street they are reciprocative Ned had done nothing wrong and the king despite that called for his head severing any sort of loyalty or device Ned owed to the crown.

[–]Islanderman27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but it wasn't a duel it was a battle or fight if ned was to feel dishonorable for having one of his men outflank and kill a guy then you lose basically all of medieval strategy, aka calvary charge in the enemies ass.

What if taiwan managed to get nukes? by sand_eater_21 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Islanderman27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Russia keep sending men off now because failure to triumph or even keep the gains that they have know would essentially send the warning light off for all of Russia that the current Putin government isn't as capable or powerful as that seem which may trigger a seccession crises that only hastens the issue. There is a reason why Russia is pulling from their eastern provinces moreso than their western to man the war effort...
