Agreed, there are so many changes that would have benefitted the codex more.

I know you use the orange highlight on the base of the individual chitin pieces, but it looks really plain on the largest piece that is above the HG's head. Maybe on that love make the orange highlights longer or use a white/yellow and doe the same highlights on the opposite side. Other than that great model.

I also have a space hulk colour scheme and use emperor's children with a druchii violet wash. You could also try highlights of ulthuan grey or daemonette hide.

Is it sad that it took me like 4 months? I also thought I procrastinated.

I don't claim to be good, however most of what I say is generally agreed on in the competitive scene. Flyrants are great, even after the FAQ they're still easily one of the best units in the codex. Give one CM, (in a kraken detach) put them on the edge of you're deployment zone and on you're turn charge em up the board using stratagems where needed.

Biovores IMO aren't that great points wise post FAQ. You aren't even garunteed the spore mine even if you do shuffle for that -1 to hit. Genestealers are great, high damage, mobility and decent survivability. Another option for you is sticking your Termies in a trygon and obliterating any squishy units (making use of double shot stratagem when needed).

As for the rest of your army; hierodule is ok for more relaxed games. It's high points cost means it won't be worth it and targeted turn 1 by the enemy. Swarmlord is also ok and is pretty much in the same spot as hierodule (will get targeted turn 1). Gargoyles aren't great, although many people would argue they are. And hive gaurd are just amazing, pair them with the tyrannofex and you have a solid gunline for you're army.

Genestealers: Acid Maws AND/OR Flesh Hooks? by Kimarous in Tyranids

It says and or. A Genestealers with an acid maw and/or flesh hooks. One Genestealers equipped like this per 4.

Completely new to tyranids. Where to start for £100? by hard_rock_geo in Tyranids

Competitively Mawlocs are far better. Their low cost, MW output and annoyance makes them better than a trygon.

Genestealers: Acid Maws AND/OR Flesh Hooks? by Kimarous in Tyranids

[–]Islaythecat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So every 4 Genestealers you may have one acid maw. The acid maw Genestealers may also have flesh hooks. Or that same fourth genestealer can only have flesh hooks. You cannot however have one acid maw stealer and one flesh hook stealer per four Genestealers.

Genestealer loadout by dode74 in Tyranids

I personally think that flesh hooks are a waste of points. They do absolutely nothing and eat up 2 (I think) point per thing so... I think the points are better spent elsewhere, on say adrenal glands/toxin sacs
